    Try this:

On the back of the connector "A". I've circled the connector in red in the following photo - it is also the only 16 pin connector there - the others are 13 pin and 10 pin.

If you pull the connector off and count over to the third pin from the left on the wire end (far left is PIN 1 to PIN 16, reversed from the board when you look straight at the pins). I've marked the PIN 1 on the board, pin 3 looks like it is the black wire - but I can't tell from the photo.

Anyway - the wire on PIN 3 is the tach signal wire from the ECM. Most aftermarket tachs can accept a signal wire from the ECM, but not all. It depends on how the tach reads the signal wire and its impedance. All you need to do is tap off that line and you should be able to use the tach.

Other option is to replace the cluster with one with a tach - but seeing that you already have the tach - try the signal wire and see if it works for you. I'll assume that you pulled the negative battery terminal off to work on the cluster - otherwise you might risk the airbag going off accidently.
