    07 Honda Fit sport

Well im in the market for a new car for my fiance and when i just happened to be at a honda dealer ship because i had to pick up a thermostat seal for my moms accord that i was fixing and i saw a new fit sport. Of course looking at it ment that 20 guys rushed over and after talking for a while it just so happens that we both like the car better then anything else we've been looking at in that price range and economy class. Anyone heard anything good or bad about them? Or have any opinions or comments?

you wont believe the aftermarket support they already have.

Opak actually races the thing and they mentioned it handles very well.

What I dont like about it..
USDM front end looks like a ass (big ass bumper, no HID, etc)
    LED tails are gone.
    Torsen bar rear suspension
Only 109HP but with 5spd paddleshifter (in Sport trim)
    Torsen bar rear suspension
    Drive by Wire system.

this car got rated number 1 in the new small econocar class out of the 7 new cars in the new car and driver magazine. its definitely turning heads. its been out for a while as the Jazz in other countries. it didn't just win, it destroyed the competition. 2nd best fuel economy yet still the fastest. smallest, yet still having near best storage space. I went and looked at one yesterday at the dealership, its nice

remember how i said i was also interested in one...well i got a call from the honda dealership when they got their first two cars in....it was a blue colored MT base model and a black AT sport model....i got to test drive the sport model because I honestly dont kno how to drive a MT...anyways, the acceleration was surprisingly decent...it felt just like my 115hp civic when it pulled but it runs alot smoother....I tried the paddle shifter thing but thats just something you would have to get use to i guess cuz it was somewhat unusual for me....the car handled poorly in my opinion...like there was too much bound in the suspension everytime i tested out the handling...but of course an aftermarket suspension would take care of that...the interior was all black and absolutely beautiful....the cargo space and all potential cargo space was very impressive as well...i really didnt kno how much room this thing had until I started messin with the seats...the multiple airbags are a plus if youre for safety....n i think thats about all I can think of to say for the car....

Oh yea...if anyone of you test drives the auto version, try this....when waiting at a stop light, ease forward enough so you can press hard on the brake pedal to make the car dip forward....hold the pedal in place.....now, pull the e-brake all the way and hold it too....with the e-brake held in place, release the brake pedal....the whole car dips down n makes the car look like its on bags or something, lol...its awesome...

i dont see whats so great about this car. its heavier than my corolla, has less hp, although the MPGs are good but in terms of performance i wouldnt buy it.

well like i said its for my fiance and we are thinking economy right now. It would be for performance at first if things open up then maybe but its a good lookin car and the sport version is cheaper then a new rolla, and at this point way less common. And like turismo said the cargo possibilities are awesom. almost like having a freakin truck with a bed cover on it.

I was just going to say that. It's a good car for getting around and then some, a perfect "fit" for your fiance. Hehe. I just made a pun.

same arguement with the scion xb yet people still buy it...i think that people are not necessarily thinking of performance when theyre thinkin of buying this car...but then again, it has or at least will have a strong aftermarket base...I mean why would anyone buy a 76 hp Toyota Prius...not cuz they're gonna race it or drive fast...cuz they want the convenience n comfort that the car offers...

I do Not care about performance when getting another car. I don't even use the performance I have, that much. Its only good for shits, giggles, bragging, and scaring cute passengers every once in a while ;) . I'd get this car, and let my girl drive my S 90% of the time because she only drives 2 mins to school, and she's a hell of a lot cuter than me in the car. I'd drive the small gas saver and save gas $$$, and have a level of comfort y'know!

are you talkin the yaris the yaris s or the yaris hatch. The yaris and yaris s look like rolla/camary and the hatch just plain looks like an egg. and it has a little less hp then the fit. and although there is no sport of the hatch version it is about 2-3000 cheaper then the base fit. and from what ive seen the sport has about 1-2 mpg better gas milage.

The hatch is available up here and I love it... a white 4 door hatch Yaris RS would rock right now... especially with the gas prices :S

I think the newer gen of Fit is coming out really soon (07 model maybe) since it's OLD in other countries already.
For the Fit 109hp vs Yaris 106hp, those # don't really tell the true story. Remember the Fit has Vtec, I believe it has only 90-95hp or so before Vtec kicks in, and it's around 100lbs heavier than Yaris. Unless you drive like crazy and let Vtec stay in all the time, otherwise the Yaris should have better performance than the Fit in the "normal" driving condition.
Just my 0.02, and don't quote on me please. :p

well the same is said for the vvt-i on the yaris. and as far as the performance aspect of it mugen is thinkin (has a prototype) about comming out with a supercharger that will bump it to 150 hp. which is low but when you think about 109 stock thats a pretty good difference.

vvti doesn't need to "kick in". It's on all the way in the whole power band.
woow, about 40% increase from a supercharger? That much be a huge one!!!

    145hp is still very good.
I think the echo TTE sc only makes the little echo to 135hp or so.
