Clay bar 3 times a year and then Meguirs 3 step process right after the clay bar.

Between those waxs I use Eagle One Wax as you Dry. I love that stuff. The Meguirs Wax as you Dry is shitty stuff.

i've been hearing alot of good things about Meguiars NXT wax...i really want to try it myself...but its like $30 a bottle hear in Canada. And i've used Eagle One NanoWax as mentioned by Importedmex, it leaves a very nice shine, but i find that its hard to remove after applying..i mean you have to really work at it to get it off...i break into a sweat everytime i use it.

i wax my car every month... actually i just did today... i do the 3 step every before summer... but ima have to clay it soon...

and everytime i wash my car (which is almost once a week) i dry it with the eagle one wax as you dry... like rolla02 said, that stuff IS good... i tried the one from meguiars, it leaves streaks... and makes my chamois oily for some reason...

Another good way of getting rif of bugs is either Formula 409 or my personal favorite Grease Lighting. Spray it then house it off, kiss those bugs goodbye, brake dust, and other hard to remove stains.\

With the Eagle One stuff buy the spray not the gel. The gel is harder to put on and take off

    don't use claybar....

use the "3 step" system for meguiars....
    1st step: Wax Cleaner
    2nd step: Polish
3rd step: (their step is a liquid wax) i use hi-tech yellow wax or a cleaner wax (meguiars)

for the ever so terrible, i use turtlewax rubbing compound, then polish, polish, then wax.. worked fairly well so far on the current project car:

Going to bring up an old thread since I am curious all of a sudden. It's been over two years since the last person posted here.. What, among current members on this forum, do you use for all your waxing, clay, polish, glaze, etc, and tools to work on your car?

I have been experimenting with a lot of products in the past couple years and I have almost found my favorite but before i do a whole write up on another post, I wanted to see what you all were doing, what you recommend, etc.

I've been using Ultima products lately. It's pricey though, but so far I've had pretty amazing results. I'm not sure if it's worth the money or not yet.

    1. Paint Guard Wash (wash)
    2. Elastrofoam (claybar alternative, not a bs cleaner wax or polish though)
    3. Paint Prep Plus (polish)
    4. Paint Guard Plus (wax)

This is a good forum reference if you want to get a little deeper into it than the Meguiar's foam applicator stuff: http://www.autopia.org/forum/index.php

^^ I have a rotary polisher, not a dual action. I've seen that some of the pads are different for them, does the polish make a difference?

It depends, you can use DA pads on rotaries and same goes for DA compounds on the rotary. The thing is that there are much harsher pads and compounds available that you must use a rotary for where you can't use a DA.

    Basically:
DA stuff on rotary = fine but not recommended
Rotary stuff on DA = no no

DA stuff on a rotary is not recommended because it is always recommended to take the least invasive procedure, working with rotaries can be really dangerous even if you know what you're doing. You can burn through paint within a matter of seconds.

I think what's wrong with my car is that it was painted with cheap paint. It looks hazy, as if there's water spots all over the car. I figure I can try some rubbing compound or clay bar, and if I mess up I'm not really making it worse.
