    Mods Gone Wrong

Ok, so I attempted to remove the amber from my headlights this afternoon. After finding a DIY from 9thgencorolla.com, I proceeded to go through the incredibly ridiculous hassle of actually removing the headlight. (BIG PAIN IN THE BUTT BY THE WAY) Afterwards, I loosened the amber piece and broke it part inside my headlight until there was none left.

Well...A very small piece is not trapped in the upper corner and will not come out. :meh: Its of course the only amber in the headlight so attention draws straight to it like a moth to a flame. lol Also, I ended "chewing" the inside of the turn signal hole a little, which is not 'that' noticable, but it still sucks. lol ALl in all, I only got the right headlight finished and it was dark by the time I got my wheel back on. (Yes, its recommended to removed the **** wheel)

Anyway, I was wondering, anyone else had anyone mod projects go wrong on them? (Misery loves company I guess lol)

    Ok, Discuss! (Coffeee Talk Voice)

on an 03+ you dont need to take the wheel off, theres like 3 - 4 bolts and alot of clips holding it on, thats just alot of extra work. i took a buddies 04 headlights out in a matter of 15 minutes.

get a flexible rod or something of the sort, and try wedging it out

Thats what I thought too....i was like "oh theres gonna hell to pay in here", lol.....newayz, my mod gone wrong was when I had my rolla, I took the plastic center piece of the tail light section and decided to paint it the same color as my car...went out and bought the stuff I needed...well I start painting and put on about three coats of paint....I wait about a few hours and come back to it and it looks soo gritty and dull...I was like what did I forget....well...I forgot to close the garage while drying, utilize the big plastic bag I had laying behind me while I was painting, use primer, and forgot to clean off the center piece......needless to say, I was a forgetful person that day...

Awww man, that does suck lol,

    Corollinout,
I followed a DIY for the removal, and I needed to lower the bumper to get the headlight out. I guess I didn't have to remove the wheel; but it gave me more room to work.

well i dont have suggestions since ive never got up close and personal with an 03, but i can give some insight into crap going wrong.
If anyone has ever seen gone in 60 seconds then they will understand that my 98 prizm is my unicorn. Everytime i do something it goes terribly wrong.
For instance my vertical doors turned out to be hell, first the install then having to shave the fenders to get clearance. And then theres the racing seats which took 4.5 hours to install since my stock seats were 19'' wide and the racing seats were 15.5'' wide so i had to find a way to make a completely customer bracket.

Then my favorite is when i installed my new jvc touchscreen headunit in the car i wired up one of those "illuminate" wires that no one really uses and the place i installed it to just so happened that whenever i turned on my headlights my fuse would pop and i'l have no lights at all in the car. Took 4 hours to finally track down what happened and fix it. IT WAS HELL.
But i'd never chage it for anything i love working on my car no matter how much crap it always gives me.

Yeah, I think I posted this first man. :) Frickin AWESOME idea though. I'm doing it when I get off work. And I'll try to do the right without taking the wheel off this time.

just be super carfull that you dont scrap up the inside of the light. So dont get to excited and just go in there without maybe trying to shape the hanger and even dremel the end down so it will be a point or something.

I did some exterior painting that I ended up hating after it was done...so it had to be reverted back to something that I liked

Rainbow, [snickers] thanks. I got it out though. The hanger idea didn't work, so I just beat the headlight with my fist until it came loose. :D
