    Now I'm pissed..(updated..no longer pissed..lol)

Found out over the weekend that Dave Chappelle is going to be at the Kennedy Center in DC. Ticket sales started at 10am. I was cool until it literally hit 10am. As I'm about to buy the tickets, THE **** SERVER CRASHED!!! Everyone here at work got fux0red cause now the telephone lines are busy and no one can get thru. its been 19 minutes so all the good seats are now gone. I will not be buying tickets now.
    However, tickets are rather expensive..
    $50.00-nose bleed seats
    $150.00-for okay seats
$500.00-Good seats plus a meet and greet with Chappelle.
OWELL! I'll just wait until he comes around again. this is his 2nd time in DC in 2 months. He did a surprise visit at the DC Improv and no one knew he was gonna show.

I saw him at the Gotham Club in NY right before he went MIA. He came in, did stand up for like 15 minutes and then left. He was really funny!!!!

Update: My co-worker was mad dedicated to get tickets cause she was in charge of getting 5 tickets in total. she finally got thru and when she asked the guy for the tickets, he said "we're sold out". lmfao! talk about a shot to the heart! that was a waste of her 1hr and 10min of trying to get thru on the phone..lol.

I don't like him enough to go pay and see him live. I'll just watch his show.

A stab to the heart was when everyone was trying to get tickets to Dave Matthews at Red Rocks....and THREE shows were sold out in less than 10 minutes. Somehow I got tickets though.

Oh yeah forgot to mention I did ot have to pay to see him, he just dropped by. So I got to see a great round of comics, and as a bonus got to see Chapalle right before he went crazy. I feel for the people that want to see him and not be able to get tickets for any event, not just a comedian.

Hes staying true to himself, and theres nothing crazy in that.

A rip off, but its a benefit show. So the money isn't really all going to him.

Ah, thats cool. Didnt know it was a benefit show..even if it does benefit his alma mater
They can get away with those prices since its in the DC area......

And the kennedy center isnt all that large, so there really isnt any nosebleed sections there....

yea I paid 60 dollars for seats (which was not far away by any means, not up on a balcony, only a couple rows back, since we got it eeeeaaaarrrrllllyyy), i didnt pay the 120 or the 500, but if i had enough money i would've. the show lasted from 7:30-11:45, and had two special guest performances. he pulled people from up front on stage, he ripped the ******* theatre to pieces with improv jokes, had a standup presence that was uncanny, and talked about EVERYthing. he's down to earth, yet crazy, just like most people, he's easy to connect with; it's definitely the talk of Birmingham how he threw it down.

he's definitely not crazy, he spoke on his reasons for leaving the show, and it was funny as well.

his performance ended around 1030, but he stayed and did improv jokes and pulled people up on stage, did a 'freestyle' battle with this guy from the audience, NO ONE left; we couldn't believe he kept on joking

AND he isn't keeping all the money, i think half and half.

One of my co-workers met him and had drinks with him in Philly when he did his performance there. He too said he is a very down to earth guy.

Old thread..yea I know. But again I missed out. he's gonna be at the DC Improv the day before the show and when my boy (who works at the Improv) told us about it (he got the phone call from his boss), it was already too late. they sold out in 10 minutes...AGAIN!

I think this is god's way of saying "Stay away from Chappelle"...lmfao. But at least these tickets were only 45.00. much more reasonable ticket cost.

Im sure youll be able to meet him if ya want....the Improv is a very small venue, and mostly the talent hangs out after shows. The DC improv is actually TOO small, and they cram too many damn tables in there.

yea..that is true. we dealt with that when we went to see John Witherspoon. But from what my boy told me, last night show got over sold. They can fit 250 people in it and at the last minute Chappelle's people said that only 150 can attend. so they had to tell 100 people "Sorry but you got assed out". And he said his shows for tonight aren't going to be big either. But still, thats alot of people for that small spot. And its a sold out show so you know everyone will be there no matter what!

Show was crazy! Chappelle was on for 2hrs and 30 minutes!!!!!! He even called Common while on stage and let him talk to us (not like we all talked back..lol). I waited forever to take pics tho...but the guy in charge of the improv hooked it up. he spoke to chappelle's wife about us taking pics with him since we were the only ones left....GREAT SHOW!!
