Eh that Beastie Boys song is new. I'm trying to steer clear of Beastie Boys though. Don't get me wrong, I like em, but I could make a CD just off of the songs I like from them.

3rd bass. they sing that song pop goes the weasel and the weasel goes pop..or some **** like that...lol. Or Heavy D..altho he is a mix or hip-hop/r&b.

Some would argue that it was the Beastie Boys who brought Rap to it's popularity,
in fact.. I remember seeing a profile on Public Enemy was giving credit to the Beasties for helping them out

I was watching a vh1 or mtv or something and a lot of people were considering the beastie boys as originators. I like that.

Uh yea... How are the Beastie Boys not old school hip hop?.. They were a big part of the genre with Licensed to Ill, Pauls Boutique, and Ill Communication just to name a few.

When Death Row was around, it was more "Gangster" Rap than hip-hop I think. The NWA stuff was more hip hop.
