    Thanks. :)

Eh that Beastie Boys song is new. I'm trying to steer clear of Beastie Boys though. Don't get me wrong, I like em, but I could make a CD just off of the songs I like from them.

    :superconf :superconf

ok.. maybe not that song, it was later.. but what about Paul Revere, Brass Monkey, Fight for your right.

License to ill came out in 1986, Public Enemy was formed in the late 80's

Some would argue that it was the Beastie Boys who brought Rap to it's popularity,
in fact.. I remember seeing a profile on Public Enemy was giving credit to the Beasties for helping them out

    **** YEA!

-Ice Cube ft. George Clinton - Bop gun
    -SkeeLo - I wish "I wish I was a little bit taller, I wish I was a baller...."
-Run DMC - Its like that
-Public Enemy - Bring the noise
-A Tribe Called Quest - Can I kick it?
-A Tribe Called Quest - I left my wallet in El Segundo
-Above the law - Menace to society
-Gang Starr - Step in the area
    -EPMD - Gold Digger
-Eric B and Rakim - Follow the leader
-Black Sheep - The choice is yours

Uh yea... How are the Beastie Boys not old school hip hop?.. They were a big part of the genre with Licensed to Ill, Pauls Boutique, and Ill Communication just to name a few.

When Death Row was around, it was more "Gangster" Rap than hip-hop I think. The NWA stuff was more hip hop.
