Michelin tires. These tires are airless

"these tires are airless and are scheduled to be out on the market very soon. The bad news for law enforcement is that spike strips will not work on these tires This is what great R&D will do and just think of the impact on existing technology:

    a. no more air valves
    b. no more air compressors at gas stations
    c. no more repair kits"

I remember reading something about those a while back - didn't know they were coming out this soon, though.

Neat stuff - any idea how much they'll cost compared to typical tires?

I wonder if these will be retreadable or not..

I think they are neat. The question would be whether they patented it (dunno patent laws, whether a change on another idea would be allowed or whatnot). If it does come out, I wish you could have like a cover over the sidewall, cuz it looks kinda freaky lol.

As popular as rims are now, they'll have to improve the appearance of those things before they'll sell.

I would assume they'll look like normal tires - otherwise, it would be relatively easy for something to get caught in the 'spokes' of the tire.

its new, so i have my doubts, everything has "kinks" when it first comes out. Just have to wait and see.
