What does everyone think? Was it a little overboard with the suspension? How would you feel if your child was suspended for this (those with kids)?

Wow, that is a little over the top...

Slipping fingers under someone's waistband is surely inappropriate behavior - but from a 6 year old - come on people.

Decades of research has shown that from the ages 6-12 (middle childhood to early adolescence) - they are just beginning to formulate concrete thinking, view their own behavior and others (POV), and see/expect consequences for actions. Moral and ethical devepment will only happen through first hand experience - this group of kids will not absorb ideas spoken to them, they actively have to participate in activity and figure it out for themselves. Unless the child was brought up with some twisted morals at home.

Biggest problem here is the guidelines set by the school to deal with certain inappropriate behavior. The school took this way over the top - they should have not labeled this as sexual harassment. Since most records are kept for 20-25 years - they have seriously jeopardized this kid's future. I would expect to see the kid's parent(s) challenge this and possibly drag this into court. I would if I was that situtation.

That's just so stupid. They're just kids, they're just playing with each other.

i dont really think that putting your fingers in someones waist band is sexual at all, it would be different if he were reaching somewhere but at six he doesnt even know where to reach for christ sake. Schools are becomming way to outrageous, which is just one of many reasons im never ever, ever.............ever having children

Dude that is what I hate about this country...... they blow EVERYTHING overboard, so fuckin over exaggerated it pisses me off...... WHERE IN THE **** IS THE MIND OF THOSE PEOPLE?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? it's a 6 yr old kid for the love of Pete man, they don't even know anything about sexuality, all they care about is playing around with barbies and their RC cars and watching cartoons..... I'm gonna slap whoever thinks this is a sexual harrassment case, seriously.....

What they should have done was pulled him aside and explained that he wouldnt like it if it was done to him and that he had to stop (IE tell him that its not nice) he would stop and it would be done...

instead they suspend him and he wonders what he did wrong... this proabably does more harm then anything else!

thats just stupid, kids are kids, they don't really know what thier doing...i would deffinetly take it to court
