    Tire size question

So I just ordered new wheels and they come with the tires, package deal yanno. The wheels are supposed to come stock w/ tires that are 205/40/17. When I ordered them they gave me 215s because of the speedometer or something (so the guy said) So I was like thats cool w/e works. Then I looked at my tires I have now and they are 205s. So then being confused I went to cardomain to research it and most people with 17s have 215s. I'm just really confused why I have 205s now but need 215s, can some one explain this to me?

It depends on what your stock tire size was, if your tire size is 195/65R14 like on my 02. When you go to larger rims you have to do plus sizing, to keep your speedo calibratied right. So with a 195/65R14 and you upgrade to 17 your new tire size will be 205/40R17. Hopw this helps alittle

IMO 205/40/17 work best for 93-02...while 03+ can use even wider tires...
i am running 235 on my wrx and i like how stable it feels on the highway
