    getting new suspension

I know i've talked about this before, but i've been putting in some extra hours in at work and i think in two weeks i'm going to be ready to order my setup. After long debate, i'm pretty sure i want to go with H-tech's and KYB GR2 struts. I feel as though this setup will look good and i won't have to worry as much about scraping up the bottom of my car or rubbing. I figure if i buy the stuff off of ebay i'll be just slightly under four hundred dollars shipped. Any one have any comments before i actually jump into this? like i said, i don't have a big budget but i dont want to buy anything cheap like that dropzone crap. here's a pic of what my car looks like now

I second that opinion. I absolutely love my H-Techs. I run them on Tokico HPs though and it's friggin awesome. I can't imagine ever again driving anything that isn't lowered!!

How much do the H-tech's typically run for anyway?

Local shop up here quoted me $110 CAD to install H-Tech's and Tokico HP's on my '94 Corolla, but me and a friend ended up doing them (friend is a mechanic)... it's really not that hard, funnest part was seized bolts and such... heh...

You're going to love your H-Tech's, they are still reasonably comfortable but definitely help the handling of a Corolla alot...

ok, this is beginning to get ridiculous. my struts got here in two days, it's been two weeks and my springs are still not here. i don't know how much more patience i have for this ebay seller. he said the first order was lost by ups, i have a tracking number but it still just says information recieved.... end of rant

so i finally get an email today from the seller... he's giving me the option of getting s techs. i don't know if that means he doesn't have the h techs or if they're going to get longer so now i'm considering it. what do you guys think? keep in mind i have a tom's lip kit getting shipped from jiggaman i plan on installing too. any info from you guys that have h techs and s techs would be very helpful

S might be too low for tom's lip. I have S on my 01 too and it sits pretty low.

S-tech give you a pretty aggressive drop...i personally dont like that
H-tech on the other hand give you a better ride quality but wont drop the car
    as low...

before you drop your car you should ask yourself what you want from dropping the car, better handling? for look? concern about ride quality? etc...

Sorry for bringing up an old post, but does anyone on this board even have these JIC Magic FLT-A2's? How are they?

The S-techs are not an aggressive drop... I have them on my 94 and although I don't have a lip, the front of the car has never scraped on anything. If something scrapes, 99% of the time it's the exhaust getting high centered.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the 98-02 models use the same suspension as the 93-97s, but the later models sit a bit higher off the ground, right?

In any case, it's up to you: a more agressive suspension, or a cosmetic upgrade.

oh, i actually already made the purchase (pics in the show off section). I ended up going w/ the s techs and yeah, you're right, no scraping at all without any lip. I'm getting a full lip kit installed soon though, so we'll see how much that changes things
