Test drove a tundra and tacoma yesterday...

Yeah. The 06 Tundra was sweet. TRD. V6. Auto. 4x4 Like 30k.
The Tacoma, hell yeah. That is a really fun truck to drive. 4cyl. Manual. 4x4. I want it so bad but we can't afford it. It's an 06 double cab. They want $24,355 for it.
I really can't cough up $415/mo plus... The corolla is costing us $497/mo (loan/insurance for 2/gas) The Tacoma would cost us $827.
Thats an extra $330 a month!

I love that truck and its breaking my heart. :p
It was kind of sad thinking about trading in the corolla.

Only if I could have both of them at the same time.
    :p

Tundra is a greaaaaat truck. I had to take mine into the bodyshop...and actually got sick...then felt better after getting it back.

I'm not a big truck nut but out of all the trucks out there I think the Tundra is pretty badass looking.

When my rolla was getting everything fixed at the dealership they gave me a Tundra as a loaner. Luckily they were cool with the fact I took an extra two days or so to return it to them..."I won't get out of work till really late the next few days is that cool?"

I can't wait until people start getting the 05+ Tacoma's lifted. Even Tundra's are just now getting around to being lifted. I hope to be one of the first in Colorado with a 6" suspension lift, and 35's...

Oh and for all you wondering...

My 03 has 61,000 miles on it...and the only major mechanical repair to it was the ball joint recall...other than that...I've put one set of brake pads on, changed the oil and replaced the air filter.

    Rock Solid Trucks. :) :D :)

My dad let me borrow his tundra for awhile cause it was just sittin there. I'll tell you this I stumped on a couple of f-150.As for the taco I had a 95 lx and I put it through hell and it still runs strong. The only major part I changed was the starter it has 300k+(up and down cali baby). Now its my mom baby she traded me for an xterra

I just loved the notchy feel of shifting. It just wants you to rev it up!
Besides liking the feel of the Tacoma better than the Tundra, the gas mileage and MSRP are more attractive.

I'm definitely not a truck guy, but if you guys are in the market for a truck, take a look at the new FJ Cruiser that should be coming out soon. It has an available 6 speed and it has a V6, but it's based on the 4Runner, so the V8 should swap in.

I like the body kit on the X-Runner, but I don't like the fact that it's 2wd.

X-runner is definately a neat little ride...but personally I ended up growing out of my street truck phase. If it's a truck...it needs to be lifted...with tires way to big for it's own good.

The thing about the Tundra that I don't like...is it does sit a little bit smaller in stature than more other trucks. Even my friend's Ranger. His 99 ranger sits up enough with enough wheel well clearance that he can stuff a 32 inch tire...I'm maxed out with my stock 31.

My dad owns a Tundra which i drive all the time. Its a sweet truck in my mind. He has the V8 TRD off road package w/ Iforce i think its called. It can get old quick in stop and go traffic, and parking in congested parking lots. But other than that id get one if my budget would allow it. The stock audio is great i think, and the power that truck puts out is great. I raced my friends tuned saab one day in it, guess who won hehe :burnout:

    Is it a '03- or an '04+?

My '03 is the Iforce w/o VVT-i. The '04's came with VVT-i and put out about 5% more than the base IForce. It's what I'd love to swap in one day...but I guess the turbo system will have to do?

    Do those 06 Tacoma 4cyls have a s/c availble.
Im all asking like it matters.

Actually we MIGHT be getting into one of these sooner than I thought.
I just got a new job today! :)

Yeah the one i'm driving for now is a 03 Iforce w/o VVT-i. A turbo on that truck would be sick! My dad aint too into the car modding scene though. I always throw ideas at him, i have got him to consider throwing some rims and a dual exaust on it. I know if it was MY truck, it would be the pimpest Tundra round here hehe.
