    Broke my ankle

At my party this past Tuesday for the PSU/FSU game, I snapped my ankle and broke two bones in my foot....spent a few hours yesterday in the hospital, hungover like none other....now Im hopped up on Advil and Vicodin, and my foot is in a soft cast until tomorrow. I go see a specialist, and theyll decide if i need a hard cast (if teh swelling has gone down), or surgery. Hopefully not surgery!

Fucking hurts like no other. Ive nver broken a bone, other than a rib fracture a few years ago.

    Anyone else break bones before?

Ive never broken a bone, but I did have a really bad fracture in my wrist that went unattended for 5 weeks. I was about 14 years old and thought it was just a sprain. I ended up in a cast for about 6 months. Sucked ass.

Broke bones in my left arm when I was in the 6th grade. Fucked up thing was that I broke it a 2nd time in a different spot literally 2 weeks after the first broken bone healed.

Ever since then, I've torn ligaments in my foot (trust me..u rather deal with a broken bone instead) twice and I tore my miniscus (sp) in my left knee.

The most recent one involved me coming out of my fiance's parents house and when I stepped on out their door, I stepped on the edge of their welcome mat which wasn't placed directly in front of the door like its supposed to be. I twisted my ankle and it swelled up. Went to the dr and the x-rays showed the very tip of my ankle bone broke. Nothing serious but I had to wear a "soft cast" for a few weeks.

That sucks man - hope that you feel better. Vicodin is great stuff - but doesn't really kill the pain that much. Basically, it makes it so that you don't give a $hit about the pain - at least, that has been my experience.

Fractured my lateral malleolus (bone on the side of the ankle, next to the tibia) from twisting my ankle from a bike accident when I was kid. Ligaments got bruised but not torn, luckily, soft cast and no pins were needed.

Several of wrist fractures (5 total - statistically the most common facture for most people under the age of 65) most from martial arts training, the rest from bikes.

Dislocations (can't even remember them all) - Left shoulder, left elbow, fingers on left hand. Right shoulder separation (that was a bitch - torn ligaments, shoulder is still loose today). Left shoulder injuries from mostly sports and accidents. Right shoulder from Rugby game - took a hit right in the shoulder/collar bone from someones knee.

Worst pain - perforated ear drum in an experiment on an unpressurized aerial research plane on the west coast. Immediately got infected and started to bleed out. Got some meds at a local clinic but that was all they could do. Had to fly back to the East coast since this was during those big fires back a few years ago in Cali - didn't want to get stranded there and I could get the right treatment here.

I have never broke a bone or fractured a bone in my entire life, Come to think of it I have never gone to the hospital for any reason other then to visit sick relatives and I'm 26. I guess I have been really lucky.

Yeah I fractured my elbow one time. I tried to dunk and my hand slipped off the rim, so I fell parallel to the ground. That was really the worst pain I've experienced. It was so intense I literally had trouble thinking straight. You'll get over it though.

I fractured my front tooth. Was standing on a bucket trying to reach something and it tipped. Landed face first on the concrete. Had to pluck out a little piece of concrete that was embedded in my tooth. Ouch.

If they play like they did last weekend, they prob wont.
Theyll lose 3-0, cuz the seahawks wont score, and neither will the skins

Well, got a walking cast on today, though I wont be walking without crutches for at least another 4 weeks. And then at that point, Ill have at least 4 weeks of physical therapy.
So at least another 4 weeks out of work. Mentally, I wish I was at work. Its fucking boring staying at home everyday.

ive broken, toes, fingers nothing i couldnt work with.

broke my ancle in high school. riding bikes over 20' dirt jumps

fractured 3 virebrae in my back riding 4-wheelers. Compression fracture to T-11 T-12 and L-1, basically take a soda can and crush one side of it. fell 15' landed on my upper back, and my knees landed above my head. folding myself in half.

kept me out of work and basically everything else for about 5 months. then alot of physical threopy. and jumping back into work as an iron worker.
This still hurts me everyday since day 1. muscles always tight. cant bend like i used to.

I remember you saying it was 100 something miles 1-way? Or 80? Something way more outrageous than my 29.

Its about 65 one way. And if its in rush hour traffic, it may take me 2 hours, 2.5 hours to get to work, or get home. I cant handle that right now.

Sorry to hear that E. Look at it this way at least you dont have false joints.

Left ankle and right knee cap are false, broken fingers many times, both arms, both legs. ruptured 4 discs in my back, broke some ribs and thats all I can think of
