    Thanks!

    Two big things I've learned.

-Plan as much as possible, timing is everything.
-Add 25% for your budget, not 10 or 15 like most people say.

:) you can do it too!

Yeah, last night I was like "no I dont want to sit here and figure this out"

    "The demolition"

hell yeah. I can't wait to relax in there. :D
that will be my reward for all of that dust in my eyes, cuts, bruises and sore muscles.

We just painted in there and I have to work on the HVAC system and then we can start laying tile, flooring, installing cabinets and trimming things out...

I'll post more pics as we progress...

Oh well you can see first hand. Its good that have a chance to learn before you jump in. Yeah I would like to see them. I don't know what it is about home building, but its just really interesting to me. We would always be walking around in the other houses on the street looking around inside and stuff, just to see how they are doing things.

    Thanks man.

There was a mobile home on it, and that was dismantled, and then they hit rock, and they tried to break it up, but that didnt work, so they had to bring in a driller and dynamite. That was pretty cool

Nice! My Brother in law just built a $500k house over here and it took almost 2 years and he had to live in a camper on the site while he built it. But the end result is super amazing and the house already apraises at $800k so it was a well worthwhile investment. I would do something like this but I couldn't stand living in a trailor waiting for the house to get finished :) Where are you staying while this bad boy is getting built?

Wow $300k profit! We hope to make 50k-80k.
We are staying at her mom's house. It's about 1300 sq ft. We're also living with her sister, and another couple. 5 Dogs, 3 cats, a 500gal tub with goldfish, and our ferret. Yeah it's real cozy. :)

    I can't wait.

I bet, yeah the reason his house appraised for so much is that they got a peice of land that was up on a steep hill and the house is anchored into a rock face. Its pretty amazing I'll take pictures of it the next time i go visit them. But they said they would never do it again because the house was so hard to complete and pass code.

Yeah, I cant wait for it to be done. The roof is going on today, as I saw when I drove by. It has a hopeful completion date of April/May. To the left of the house theyre building a huge garage as well....3 bay garage large enough to store the racing trailers and other junk...theres going to be a bathroom downstairs, as well as bathroom on the second floor with a bedroom. Marble/wood floors throughout the house, two sinks in the kitchen, 20X20 walk in closet over the house garage....bar in the basement and a full home theatre room. Looking at about 1.5 to 1.7 mil when its all done and complete, including the land, pool, poolhouse, etc
Getting the roof on today and Monday is the big step, because we've been getting snow and ice lately.

Yeah get that sucker dried in. It's nearly impossible to build anything in an alaskan winter. Looks like they're working steady.
Very nice. Does grandpa race cars?

    Loaded! hehehe
