What do i need to know about rotor and new pads installation?

I just got my Powerslot Slotted rotors from tirerack and my HAWK HPS brake pads. I want to save money and install it myself.
Do i need to do anything to the new rotors and pads or do i have to do something?

Nope, its pretty straightforward. A hayne manual will be helpful...make sure the outermostedge of the slots hit the pad first.

so i don't need to surface the pads or the rotors, i should just wipe it down wit rubbing alcohol and thats it?
do i need to do anything wit the brake fluid?

well reading the instructions on the pads helped, that sucks it said i have to replace the brake fluid, thats gonna cost me some....

It is recommended you flush the fluid every 2 yrs so you should have a buddy help you pump the brakes... you'll get the hang of it.

o my fluid was changed less then 6 months ago wit my current brakes, but i'm replacing them cause they are warped and they keep getting warped and the rotors have been resurfaced like 3 times already, so idk how much they can take, so i figured i might as well solve 2 problems wit one stone

If the fluid was changed 6 months ago, it should be perfectly fine... as for your brakes warping, its more than likely a combination of having them resurfaced (less material to dissipate heat, so it holds the heat longer, making it easier to warp them) and probalby the way you use the brakes...

well i cracked like 2 pairs, and they were under warranty though, but still, my rotors got warped, it all happened over the summer, excessive heat outside, plus bumper to bumper traffic in the heat, and me driving fast once in a while....
hopefully this new setup will solve my problem

Could be a problem with your calipers... one of the sliders (dont know if this is the right word) could be seized, etc...

wouldnt the shop have picked it up on 3 different occasions? and my rear drums were full of dust so the pads in there cracked too, but that was replaced and has lifetime warranty

i'm goin to the firestone service station near me and getting them to install it for me probably
