    new setup. right parts?

i broke down and decided to start with a set of gr2's and h&r springs along with hotchki's sways for an autox setup. they came yesterday, but i'm not sure if i got the right parts. does anyone else have a similar setup? my springs seem to fit the shocks ok but uncompressed the springs extend past the top of the shock. is this normal? or did i get the wrong parts? my springs are a nice blue-green color.:) i couldn't find any part numbers on the boxes or the springs/shocks themselves

oh and after careful research i decided against full coilovers due to a lack of product support. hell, when i tried to call k-sport neither the main office nor the dealers ever responded. sketchiest business ever.

The spring should look longer then the existing spring already on the strut because they compress quite a bit. The spring has to always be under a load even when the strut is off the car.

it is normal for your springs to extend past the top of the shock. infact when we did the springs ont my 04 it took 5 of us to push it down far enough to get the top nut on the strut.

This sounds familar. Yeah they look like clamps kinda and you fit them around your spring then twist or whatever and it keeps the spring compressed so you can put the top of the strut on.

Have you been revoming the springs without a clamp??

I'd get the type of suspension that dosen't require a spring compressor to install.

So how did you get the spring off without a spring compressor? Did you go ghetto like Derrick and I, using a trashcan to contain the bullet? lol

we use a compressor to get the springs off but the htechs are too tightly wound to fit a compressor in to... so putting them back on was the hard part... I took them all off by my self.
