To Modify Or Not To Modify

Well, as most of you know, I have a 1994 Acura Integra RS. Mechanically, the car is near perfect, but body wise, the paint has started to fade and it has some rust starting on the 1/4 panels... I have a friend who does body work and offered to fix the rust for me pretty cheap and paint it any color I want, just have to pay for the materials (and probably a few cases of beer, lol)... the body is what has been stopping me from modifying my Integra to any extent (I always hated people who drove around on a lowered Civic with 16" wheels and intake/exhaust but had bad rust on their car... just looks stupid)... but since the rust might be taken care off for pretty cheap, nothing is stopping me except money anymore (and parts are plentiful second hand for 94-01 Integras online :))... so, just wondering what everyone has to say... oh, here are the plans for the car:

    Exterior:
    Fix Rust
Paint Flat Black (John Deere Blitz Black)
Mugen Style Front Lip (already have, not installed)
    Tinted Windows
16" Rota Circuit 8's Bronze (or a similar wheel, depending on prices I find)

    Suspension / Brakes:
    Brembo Blanks All Around
    Hawk HPS Pads All Around
    Stainless Steel Brake Lines
Neuspeed SofSport Springs (lowers about an inch)
    KYB AGX Struts

    Performance:
Short Ram Intake (already have, installed)
Integra Type-R OEM Exhaust (mandrel bends, flows 30% more than my exhaust, and a nice mellow sound)
    DC Sport SS Header
    High Flow Catalytic Converter
Ground Wire Kit (probably custom, another friend that is in school for Electrical Engineering and he has done a ton of electrical work on cars, i'm sure he could design a good one for me)

And of course upgrade the sound system a bit (midlevel 6.5" all around and a 10" sub with 250 watts or so, nothing fancy, just clear sound with a touch of bass)...

    Well, let me have it!

I hear Integras get impressive gains from a CAI, so you may want to try that instead of the shortram. Sounds like a nice setup otherwise though.

I'd say go with all of the above and then save up later on for a b18c1 or h22a and BOOST THE BIATCH hehehe :p

Actually, the best gains on Integra's (the lower models, like mine) are usually a Header, because the stock exhaust manifold is quite restrictive... and the K&N Filtercharger I got is dyno provent o put down 6.11 wheel hp, which is more than enough for me for an intake :)

I'll probably start modifying it, but, it will depend on how bad the rust is that we find this weekend, heh... thanks for the positive words guys...

Stock for stock, it would be a good race. Of course if he had an engine swap and I'm nearly stock then it would be unfair. When I get my 4agze the first thing I'm going to do is whoop up on some Hondas.

my mom's old car aint the fastest or the lowest but for being stock it was damn good and now that it was pretty much easy to modify it takes off a hell of a lot faster than before, but since it was recently crashed it affected it a bit. but yeah Honda owners do have it easy. i have still yet to drive the new car, she won't lend it to me at all not even my dad can drive it. go with anything as long as it ain't that purpleish silver that my mom's old car came with it freaking ugly.

how would that handle against a J30A1 form the Honda?

The J30A1 has 170whp stock. The 4agze has 170bhp stock. It's more comparable to a B18 or something stock, but it has more torque. Once it's converted to a 4agte, look for 250+hp easy. I drive a 94 Corolla, by the way.

You have a '94 Corolla with a stock engine? Or is it modified? And do you have the 4AFE or 7AFE?

I have a 4afe right now w/ intake and exhaust, not that it makes much difference.
