Changing clock color

On the 03+ how does one go about changing the color of the clock? I was sick of green so I changed all the other lights to red...except the clock. I heard you could just dismantle it and paint the inside of it but I can't get past the circuit board. Has any one done this? Could I possibly just paint the outside of it *didn't really wana do this, but if i must* w/o it looking like crap?

someone put some red film seran wrap type stuff over the glass, look at a craft store for teh stuff

That was me... If the clock module is the same as the 01-02's you have to get a jeweler's flathead screwdriver to pry up the little clips. There are 2 on each side, and it can be a beotch getting all 4 of them popped off at the same time. Just takes some patients. DON'T paint it. Use red transparent film. You can get it at a craft store. Like the colored celiphane they use at the florists. I used this stuff called rubylith, it blocks UV light and is used for making screenprinting positives. If you can't find it at the craft store or anywhere else, just ask me. I'm really busy right now, but I might be able to get some rubylith and mail it to ya. just let me know.

It'll make it more of an orangish red. Any redder, and it will be harder to see.

I don't have any trouble seeing mine, and it's not orangish.
It's actually very bright. I was surprised how well it turned out.

What year do you want it for? I can do one for the 03, but I'd imagin its entirely different for all the other years *except maybe 04*

There are non that I can produce at the moment. All you have to do is pop off the trim peice, unplug the clock harness and remove the module. Then carefully take the lens off of the clock. It's probably fastened by 4 clips. Insert the film. Reassemble the clock module, plug it in and test it to see if the color is dark enough. If you need more color add another peice of film. Then reassemble everything. Very simple.

To get the trim or w/e out you have to pop out the panel w/ the cig lighter...disconnect the cig lighter then there are 2 screws you have to take out. Then where the AC controls are the middle of the three nobs pops off and there is a screw to take out...then just pry out. From there on statik has it dead on.

about LED lights, what should I use to change the lime green dash light? YK the material used for it is it paint,marker,or some window tint film?

Glass paint is what alot of people have used. Craft store.

Red is supposed to be easier on your eyes, but it's such as harsh color IMO. I have an Alpine HU with blue lights, so I changed all my dash lights to match. It gives a more calm look than red everywhere.
