I want to make the fogs BRIGHTER!

Does anyone know how I can make them brighter?
I slid into a snow bank last spring and broke my pass. side fog. Today I just recieved a new light and installed it. If you remove the "cover" thing in front of the bulb will it be brighter? Are there any brighter bulbs that would go in there?
I was thinking about doing HID fogs eventually, if it's even possible with that lamp.

yes you can remove it but you'd be breaking the law since the fogs are directed upward. i have Pilot Hyperwhite H3's on mine (paid about 19 bucks for both) and the outcome you can see on my signature.-------\/

Yeah. I don't know if I should put my HIDs in the fogs or on lowbeams or highbeams. I just need a good bright light that I can use for driving in the winter here because it gets so dark during the day. If I had them on my high beams I would probably have to switch them for oncoming traffic, so I was thinking the fogs would be a good place for them. Unless they would be better for lowbeams.
