    Intake question

I'm about to buy an intake. Are there any brands, cheaper than like AEM that are decent? I keep getting told Ebay brands, but I'm skeptical. Any opinions/ideas?

IMO intake is and intake. Only thing I'll worry about is the brand of the filter.

I ordered a cheap-o cosmo racing short ram intake for my '04 and my car idled "funny" and took a bit more cranking to start. I ended up ordering a K&N typhoon short ram... satisfied. I was initially under the impression that all intakes are created equal... guess not.

I was looking at those. I just got a cheap-o one for now. In a few pay checks I'll probably start considering more.

filter is more important than piping, but some intakes are carb legal and some aren't

for example, if you're pulled over and you have an intake, the cop would ask for the carb legal sticker or something of that sort, if you have ebay, you dont have it, if you have AEM, you would have it, how i think of it is you pay for the intake to be legal

yeah the only thing with getting off brand piping you just gotta make sure that they have all the mount or holes to plug in sensors or vacume lines if you have them

other then that it doesnt mater what brand

I'm satisfied with my K&N stock replacement filter, I doubt the change would have been bigger than a short ram (only choice for me... lots of rain here)

you can get a cheap one just make sure your sensor is placed correctly and tightly, when its loose is when you get the mesed up idling and all that, or so ive heard anyway

but ebay pipes and K&N does the trick

Yeah we don't have to deal w/ cops questioning the legality of our cars in FL. We don't even have emissions. It uber rawks.

Shit i forgot but i can remember clearly it has to do with the ECU main or the ECU transmission/ and it reads the same for the MAF sensor.
