    Recall??????????

first how do we know who sets up our reputation. i don't have anything bad (thanks to those who have given me postive feedback, its appreciated) i just would like to know if its a good or bad thing to know who set it up.thanks

Anyway back on topic. i am recently finding out that Toyota may issue a recall for the 01-02 Generation Corollas, reason being is that they are failing in the rod bearings, and having oiling problems and from what i have been told from my local dealer that they have had statistics showing the 01 -02 gen failing. anywhere from 21K miles to 87K miles they do not know why but i was notifed this afternoon from my friend who said a notice MAY be sent out to them. I think the reason is that they are having an overflow of owners having problems with thier engines.they said judging from my VIN mine may be fixed IF a recall is issued. they said they would need more complaints of owners having problems to issue a recall. Lemme know what u all think and some help on the first one as well.thanks Ruben

reputation was turned on because post count doesn't represent the quality of somebodys posts. So, you get a small amount of rep for your posts, but you get more if people rate you up. Each user can only affect you a little bit so they can't make a huge dent in your reputation.

you dont. it really shouldn't matter for the most part since the comments they write aren't viewable. And we know you are a good poster so you'll have a good rep.. unlike some people on this board :chair:

my 02 has 45K on it right now and doesn't burn oil at all, but who knows in the future

my gasket was replaced under warranty. i think i had like 2K miles left before it expired and the car had 35K on it, but the problem they are having (from what i've experienced and heard) is all internal mechanical parts.

    thank GOD I don't have a non-vvt-i engine... btw... aren't 00s also vvt-i?

my has a slight slight oil leakage in the top gasket... sloppy rebuild job when the original was changed I imagine...
mine has a mechanical clatter when pushed (stepping on it to maintain 50mph going up a hill and such)
