With the exception of adding an amp/sub in the trunk, 20% tint, and the previous owner rewiring the fog lights - it's completely stock. Part of me wants to mod the shit out of it and part of me likes it just the way it is.

I had it at an auto-x and someone said "There's all these cars, they go out and run, they look slow and they're really loud. Then you pull up to the line in this 4 door car, all quietly, and you just take off. Can barely hear you out there but you're hauling ass, it's pretty awesome"

Working from home, and now using the Alltrac a lot, mileage isn't racking up like it was before....it's currently up to 153K. My son (10 months old) seems to HATE the Alltrac and really like the IS...

Sidenote.... given the fact that one of these can be picked up for $6-10k, I'm amazed at the options it has.... unless you're purely after gas mileage - given that from a size standpoint they're almost the same, I don't understand why someone would buy a Corolla over one. (Should be noted that my recently ex-wife has a 2010 Corolla S 5 speed that I'm well in tune with..... There's only 1 thing that car has that appeals to me over the IS.... and that's an auxiliary input)

Very nice! Just polish up those head lights. Definitely a rare car right there. Glad you like it as much as I like mine lol (I'm not gonna "preach to the choir" about it)

But you're right about the price. It's so low, why would you want to spend more some other car??? My mom just dropped $9k on a 2010 Corolla, which is so much LESS car than the older IS300. Oh well.

I'm curious - someone on another forum stated that their sportcross (wagon) would kick the traction control back on if there was slip from the rear tires for more than 6 seconds....

I don't have that issue - I'm wondering if it's an AT thing or something that was implanted only on the wagons?

It might depend on the year, I know that some of them had VSC in addition, but I don't have that.

weird... I have an '04 and it doesn't have VSC....

I know all of the sportcrosses were auto's.... I wonder if they all had VSC too? Maybe heavier in the rear so they added more safety garbage?

    ehhh.... yes and no.

Like I said above.... part of me wants to mod the living shit out of it.... part of me wants it to stay exactly as is. It's about as fast, if not a bit faster, than a stock WRX.

When I drive it a lot I get a little complacent with it.... (don't get me wrong, it's still nice/comfy quick) and it seems slow. If I drive my AE95 and then get into it, it's like driving a whole different car all over again.
