so after 4 weeks in the shop I have her back.
Spent all my savings on her and still looks the same.
She don't feel the same though
Redid the head, New water pump, thermostat(which was the cuase of all this), all piping and sent the radiator in for clean-up.
New clutch added, giving SO Much More power to the wheels.
Then we found there was 2 broken engine mountings, that took a week.
Hopefully in the new year she can go for the bodywork.
wish I could do what Gold has done to his, would save me some money, but alas.

I got some square fogs to install, have to wait for xmas as it is a prezzy from Santa...heehee.
Gold gave me a great idea for this, will see if I can do the same. If not I will have to install them in the bumper. either way I will need brackets to come from the metal bar to ensure they stay in.

Runs of to go take off body parts and investigate...

    WOW!!!
2+1/2 years later and I have a different car as Falkor Died:weep:
I will post pics later of what it looked like.
    Sad she is gone.

I have a new 2nd hand cab now, still have a lot to sort out on her but getting there slowly.
Same shape, just it is the GLi and not the GLS, so no airbag and no ABS :weep:

    Oooh
I went over the 600 mark!!
    Whoop-Whoop!!!

    Ahoy

So, to tell the full story of the passing of Falkor L

On Saturday 31 Jan 2016 I was asked by a mate to join them in town for a bit of a jol.
So I jumped in my cab and headed out. Was already passed 9pm but the party only getting started.
On the way there is a section that has a bridge with lamppost which are standing below the bridge level, but extends to light up above it.
These are serious strong poles with metal plate bracings and anchors. Unfortunately they have no guardrails being so close to the road. You actually have to step into the road to walk around them. Scary stuff.
Anyway, coming round the bend approaching this bridge I had to shift over lanes to take the slipway just after the bridge which has its own dedicated lane, but I was 2 lanes away.
I shift over and get stuck behind this BMW driving much slower than me, so I slack down, check my blind spots and where the solid lines were, pull out to the left and accelerate. The BMW moved over into the same lane as me, still doing the same speed, I slam on breaks to avoid hitting the car in front, lock up a bit and just went straight into the lamppost….Was doing at least 90Km/h and came to a sudden STOP!
Luckily I was alone in the car and most of the impact was on the left. I think if I had a passenger, they would either have broken both their legs or be dead as the dash was squashed up against the seat which is in the most rear position.
For some reason I was wearing my seatbelt…. Something someone noticed that I don’t do, especially if it is a short trip, like I was doing that eve.
If I did not I would have gone through the windscreen. Because I did, it broke my sternum, crack 2 ribs on the left and pop both left and right hernia. This put me in hospital for a week and a week off at home.

Herewith the aftermath of Falkor hitting the lamppost.
    It actually cut into her

I did try and dispute a claim where the authorities are to blame for the extent of the damage, but alas, no luck on that.
The post is too close to the edge of the road and has no barrier around it being so close to the road. It also has no reflective markings.
If the lamppost was not there, I would have smacked the wall and only damaged the car down the side and not landed in hospital due to not coming to a sudden and immediate stop.
Or if the lamppost had the barrier/guardrail around, the post would not have cut into the car like it did.

It was a real sad day:weep:

jeez. At least you survived that. Nothing the "authorities" can really do, especially since it sounds like you were driving very aggressively. But, that quote in your signature is interesting in this context "If one day Speed Kills me - Do not cry because I was Smiling" I don't think you were smiling through that. At least you're all recovered now, an hopefully happy with a new car

I went and found the place you had your accident

    Thanks guys
Ja, a real sad one for me.
That bend in the support fin on the pole was me :sir:
Not really driving aggressively there. They were doing like 50-60 in a 100 zone and the left lane does have traffic coming up.
I will Always love that car.
The new one, not so much.
Got a lot to sort out on her. I was skrewed over by the dealership I bought it from.
Actually looking at getting a Suzuki Swift now, but my heart will always be a Toyo one.
