    Hi everyone,

I'm looking to buy a new exhaust system for my '01 Corolla.

I live in Montreal, Quebec (Canada). I would preferably want to buy inside Canada.

Which exhaust systems do you guys recommend, are after market mufflers an easy install (requires mounting hooks tacked on?), are the compatible with other exhaust manifolds (referring to the 2zz-ge Celica manifold).

    Thanks!

9 times out of 10, it's been said the 2zz header will not work on our chassis, but I believe James and/or Milky is working on this for a definite answer.

Any 2ZZ header off a Matrix, Celica and Corolla will not work on our cars....

HOWEVER you might want to try a Header off a MRS.... Monkey Wrench racing sells them and they might just clear.

The headers aside, has anyone put in a full catback system in their Rolla?

I have a full catback from Thermal R&D.

It needed to be welded right after the cat, but the rest of it is bolt on and works with the stock hangers. Comes with a resonator and nice muffler. I think it produces the superior sound for our engines.

They don't list it on their site anymore, but I bet you can get them to make it if you want.

Also, I wouldn't just buy the MRS header right off the bat. I don't think it will bolt up without modifications, which I am ready to tackle with a welder here soon.

2ZZ and 1ZZ header flanges are different.

I have access to the garage at school, so modifications aren't an issue (welding, grinding, etc.). However, if you say that the exhaust is a direct fit (aside from a few welded spots) I believe I'll order myself one of those.

Do you have a video of the sound by any chance?

You could check out his race thread, he has in car videos of his car on the track, I don't remember how the audio was, though.

If you are going to have a custom exhaust made id at least go 2.5 with your choice of muffler, I have a vibrant muffler for mine I know a lot of guys here run the magnaflow or obx muffler. I also have a vibrant resonator to prevent the ricey buzz soound. Obx also has headers for our cars but you will need to have a flex pipe welded on so it won't crack.

Should be able to find some vids of vibrant or magnaflow mufflers. Would deffinately recommend adding a resonator to keep a deeper tone. Vibrant and obx both have the best priced resonators I could find.
