You got the red oil light of death? Mine has both a red and a yellow light.... yellow lights mean to check out the problem when you can... red lights mean stop ASAP. So it was fine that my yellow oil light turned on and off.

on JZ series the yellow light is low level and red light is low pressure I think.

yeah the level was low for sure, but not low enough to trigger a red (cease and desist) light

My oil has flickered a couple times, only at idle, and the idle drops down to like 500 when it happens. I'm guessing low oil pressure? I don't know how to check.

If you can log then I'd suggest getting a laptop and some software to log the cars events in real time. If you have access to a Bluetooth enabled elm327 reader, torque app will get you the readings on the fly. When the oil light comes up, pull over and check and refill

Yeah it wasn't low the last time it did it, but I always check these days since I know it's now a burner.

I just got the results back from the 2nd oil analysis that I took with the Amsoil Synthetic. I'm sitting at about 9,300 miles on this oil, and everything still looks good. Some of the numbers were even lower then the first time I tested. I will send in another sample in about 3,500 miles.

So I changed my valve cover gasket and oil pan gasket on my body kit rolla....it seems the oil was some how making its way out of my engine through those 2 locations.

hopefully this makes the consumption/loss a bit more slower....

I'll probably look into that then. Cheapo auto zone replacements or Toyota?
