Do you only use these for HIDs? Should the hi and lo beam work as intended if you were to just use normal bulbs? Or is this the harness needed to do the conversion...

You would use this harness if you switched to the 8.5 front end, and you wanted both the highs and lows on at the same time. It will work with halogen or HID.

So for these, you still have to splice on the other connector? The harness i posted wont allow both to be on when turning on the highs because of no relay? 35$ is expensive... i assume thats for one aswell... -_-

The one you listed will do nothing for you.

The $35 one is $35 because it works. If you can't afford $35 to do it right, do it like Mack lol. But it will be plug and play. It will plug into the H4 connector that you have stock, and it will give you a high and low connector to plug into the HID and separate bulb. I'm not 100% if it won't require ANY modification, but you can figure it out lol.

Ok, yeah 35 isnt that much, but do the oem headlights work like that aswell? Or when you hi beam, the low turns off? And if you dont use HIDs at all, seeing as i dont have projectors, it will still have the same effect?

Yes it turns off the low beam, otherwise you wouldn't need this. If you don't use HIDs, then you don't need this harness, but it will make things 100 million times easier lol.

Questions solved! This will make for easy use of high beams using the stalk but you are correct, it will turn off the lows. I'm curious as to why milky has two of these considering he hasn't done the swap lol. I remember an old post saying he wanted to though, and had a lot of the stuff.

You need that harness for the 8.0, no matter what you do to the front end. If you have a 8.5, you'll never need the harness.

If you use HID projectors like Milky, you'd need it

So, im actually getting around to doing this 01 conversion. i recently lost a bumper to a snow bank. What i plan to do is buy male h4 connectors & use 9005 & 9006 headlight connectors, and connect the grounds to the h4 ground to make a harness, so that im able to swap between front ends like plug & play.

Get a morimoto h4 harness it lets you keep the high and low on at the same time

the harness you're gonna make will only run one set at a time

    something like this

But if i wire it up the way i was going to do it... will it function like oem? Im not sure if i want the low and hi on at tthe same time. Fyi. My drls are already disabled.. Also, how would i go about installing the fog lights? Do i need to find h3 connectors from a scrapped car?

with your original plan it will be low beams or high's not both so not oem to 8.5 spec. on 01-02 they use both high and lows at the same time

as for fogs its best to buy a harness that has a button that fit into the little coil holder on your side using the stock harness needs some parts and some re-pinning on the harness someone did a write up but is was bad and broken up

Ok, so ive spoken to a few people about this today. & you're right. Most people that have done the conversion have done the wiring by just using a h4 hid harness or doing what i was going to do. But ive spoken to my local 8th gen buddy, and he said the exact same thing you did. Hes going to help me do the conversion with a relay harness like youve posted above, so that it will be oem spec. He also said he could wire in the fogs without a switch.
