    K-9 Suspension show? :p

Really though, that's sad. First of all the people doing this are f*cking morons because they aren't even doing it right! If anything the hook will rip out once the shark bites the dog or simply by being pulled along. Most likely the shark will go for the center of the dog. Now if they were using a small dog, like a miniature or toy, then I could kind of see it making sense by putting it on the lip. If they want to catch a shark they should put a few hooks in different places on the dog. Like I said, MORONS.

The hook in the dog's lip is real. I doubt any vet clinic would fake something like that, even if they weren't hurting animals. The vet clinic looks real too.

But was the dog really going to be used as shark bait? This could have just been a rare case of animal abuse, not ever intending to use the dog as bait. There was only one dog presented in this condition. All of the other dogs were strays walking around on the street. It could very well be a media spin or just plain fabrication. I don't know what the reporter was saying, so thats my best guess and it's probably a spin. The Sun article didn't say much.

Bottom line, animal abuse is wrong. It takes a fairly screwed up individual to inflict cruel suffering on a helpless animal. For God's sake, of all animals a lab!
    Sad...

Well, they said they hooked the dog not only on the lip but also on the leg. If any, I dont think that they were hunting for big sharks cuz the hook looks too small.

Also, sharks dont take one big bite and thats it. Sharks have serrated teeth that they use to grind with and when they bite, they will take many bites. I figure they used the dogs to mimic a sea lion since thats what sharks mistakenly assume things swimming on the surface of the water would be. Also, sharks attack articulating appendages, thats why you see shark victims mostly being bitten in the arm or leg so it makes sense that they would hook it on the leg.

Now as to deem this as being authentic or a hoax, i agree with you and say it was a misunderstanding that the dogs were not being used as shark bait but instead being abused. Regardless, its still a horrible case of animal cruelty. If anything, they shouldve used an animal that is not so domesticated but its best that they dont use animals at all....
