Anyone here have H&R springs?

Here's my car with Tein H springs installed. I have 37mm offset 16x7" wheels with 205/45-16 tires.



I'm rubbing and bottoming out on the front and rubbing on the rear that rests lower than the front which I'm not happy about. I'm thinking of getting H&R 54691 E11 springs on mine. Will H&R springs make the wheel gaps equal on both ends as pictured on the corolla below or would I need to keep stock springs on the back to make the gaps equal to the front like I'd have to do with the Teins?

If I have to use stock springs on the rear then will H&R springs on the front give me problems like the Teins do or will the ride be ok on them with no rubbing or bottoming out?



I've found out today that I have a bad strut in the rear and creaking in the front when the car is pressed on but I didn't hear that before the Teins were installed so I don't suspect that the front struts are the cause of the creaking and bottoming out where it's most likely caused from the Tein install but the issue will be inspected soon.

So for your rubbing in the rear your wheels are +37 i think max offset (without rolling fenders is +42) you are 5mm over spec you can roll your fenders and that problem will be solved.

and your bottoming out i say get some good struts and you should be fine.

just speaking from experience,I've ran KYB GR-2's with trd springs 1.25 inch drop then went to d2 coilovers. on 16x7 +42

james on the forums has H&R springs, ask him if he rubbed on those...they are lower than TRD springs

I have TRD springs and they never rubbed and dont lower much....they are kinda like H tech

Guys can koni struts be fitted into tokico struts or will they only fit into the oem kyb? I can’t get tokicos since they’re out of supply everywhere so koni is what I’d like to get.

I've found 3 Tokicos but am not having success finding the needed hp2170. I've looked everywhere online that could be found on google and yahoo including ebay and amazon.

LOL took me over a year to get my 4 tokico together....bought the front 2 for $110 new on craigslist thanks to irvin, 1 rear for $20 and then another rear for $40 on ebay.

Paid for them today and getting them shipped tomorrow 1. Used a $50 rebate card to pay for part of it so the out of pocket expense was $293. Not bad at all considering most prices online for them are $100+ per strut.

Got the oem springs back on the rear again where the wheel well gap looks even on both ends now. Also got an alignment now that the front Tein H springs have settled in and it drives better than it ever has. Very much more planted straight on the road where the steering wheel is more firm to turn when before with these wheels on it and the 14s beforehand as well I was getting blown all over the roads in side winds and the steering wheel was light to turn. I'm kicking myself for not doing this years ago. Such a better driving car.

The shop owner who test drove the car after aligning it said he was very impressed with my 13yr old car saying it looked real nice inside and out where the inside even still smells like a new car. A salesman at that shop was standing by the car talking to another salesman about it and he also said that he wanted those wheels for his car since he really liked them and asked where I got them. Nice people there.
