    kyb's come factory stock?

when i pulled off the "stock" struts from my car this weekend, i noticed they were made by "kyb usa" is this normal? i got the car used, 1999, a while ago from a dealership so i doubt there are anything other then stock. this sound right to you guys? ill get a pic of them soon so you can see if they look like what you guys have/had. makes me glad i didnt go with the kyb's over the tokico's if they did come stock

IIRC, KYB makes the stock struts..but I think the KYB GR2 is different. I'm happy with my Tokicos. :)

KYB makes OEM struts for half the car manufacturers out there along with performance coilover manufacturers such as Buddy Club, GAB, Cusco, and also market them under their own brand.

trd uses kyb struts as well. They should be quite the same as the gr-2's

The dealer tricked me into believing that my stock 05CorollaS shocks are KONIs. but what are the 2005 shocks anyway?

more than likely KYB's but it oculd also be who ever they contracted with and who ever had the cheapest price at the time...

if they were the same 98 to 01 then i would be able to interchange them, correct? well i can't. if i were to put the struts on the 01 to the 98 the tires would rub (stock rims) and if i put the 98 on the 01 they are too skinny. When i did suspension work on both cars, they 01 s had fatter struts and shorter travel. the 98's were skinnier and were long travel.BTW it does not say TRD, it says someting "yellow" i can't make it out.all i know is that they are really fat.especially in the back.

the gr-2's fit the 98 but not the other one, when i did maintence the gr-2's i ordered for the S didn't fit so i put them in the 98 which they fit perfectly.
