it's a nice writeup. i really want to get an alarm for my tC. i doubt anyone will steal it by hotwiring it, because of the factory transponder. but it's not like a normal honda transponder that has a hot box available to jack into it and bypass the system.

it's always possible to just flatbed a car and haul it away.
if you have a stick shift car, don't use a starter kill, because all they have to do is bump your car and get it moving a little, then drop the clutch and it should start. just like you'd do if your starter died and you rolled it down a little hill to start it.

this is what you need: http://asianwolf.com/item.jhtml?UCIDs=1068694|1069136&PRID=1354125
it works by arming itself when it gets a signal that the main siren is going off. if the thief cuts any of the wires, this thing will blare untill you deactivate it with a key.

i have a question though, apparently it works just like a regular siren normally, but how does it know when it is ok to blare away like the power was cut? i guess if it loses power or ground, it freaks out and blares. but what if it has power and ground and the thief cuts the siren wire? how is that any different than just disarming the system with a remote?

Jokes on them, I dont have a system to steal. Sold all that crap yrs ago.

In addition to my DEI alarm system I have a autolock and a fuel pump kill switch.

DIY, all you need is a 5pin relay and a momentary switch

only downfall is you'd need to disable it if you want remote start to work. I usually have it activated when I leave the car for a long period of time.

i dont think many of them used their trunk.....their system probably took up too much trunk space....but from what they were saying, they crawl through the back seats and unlock the chain....
