I got my hands on some spray (zex wet kit)i dont plan on spraying more than a 55 shot

lotta places recomend colder spark plugs. how valid is that?

any other suggestions, precautions?

Good idea to run a coolder plug. For a safety precaution and extended lifespan for the plug. They (NOS and ZEX) recommend that you pull the timing back 1 -1.5 degrees for every 50HP shot you add, run 1 to 2 steps colder plugs, and high octane fuel to help reduce the chance of detonation. Since we can't really do anything with the timing on our 1ZZFE engines - running colder plugs and using high octane gas is the minimum you want to help keep you engine from detonation issues

You may have to experiment a bit to get it to work in your particular car. I found running a one step colder plug and closing up the spark gap about 10 thousandths would help with detonation (Corolla Denso IK16 to Denso IK20 - 1 step coolder Iridium plug, gap from 0.044" to 0.035" to start). Since I've run it only in 2nd and 3rd gear - more effective use and makes the bottle last longer - the plugs really held up on premium pump gasoline (on previous car - sold now, 135K miles with no visible extra wear, Nitrous system added at 85K - stepped up in 25HP increments to max of 75HP, ~ 200 miles of continuous spray (15 - 10lb bottles)).

Some have reported good luck with clipping the ground electrode to open up the plug and keeping it cooler (not sure if that really works on 4 cylinder cars - some ran into problems with Bosch Plat +4, AC Delco Rapid Fire plugs, and Splitfire plugs overheating). I've not run into any problems with OEM plugs that were a bit cooler. You could also go with plain copper plugs - pretty decent quality and you will tend to go through then pretty quickly - depending on how much you are spraying.

Make sure your fuel pump is up to the task (should be fine with a 55HP shot) - but you want to make sure that you are not leaning out. Don't spray too close to redline (safety) - if you spary on WOT in 2nd and 3rd (total duration is about 5-10 sec or less, keep in under 15 sec.), a 10lb bottle will last at least 20-25 1/4 mile blasts.

i dont plan on spraying like a madman, couple of times a month at max, not much since its my daily driver

how dangerous would running a stock plug be? or is it more of a durability issue

Yeah - I should have been more specific Not much you can do without stand alone FMS or piggybacking the OEM ECU.

you use 93 all the time or only when youre on the bottle

You can run 87 if you don't spray..but you might want to go through some 93 again before you spray, to get the tank/lines cleared out -- ie don't get down to 1/4 tank of 87, then fill up with 93 and hit the track.

i learned my lesson with NOS and i am going to stay away from it but then again i added 125 wet shot. then i blew the engine to shreds, LOL it was so much fun.

nitrous can't blow up the engine, nor can a tank of nitrous blow up

i had it on the manifold runners and the timing chain gave ay then the engine went BANG!! and then it just stopped while my oil and coolant leaked out of the engine, hehe it was fun for the three days it lasted.never have i seen my corolla pull so fu_king hard! it was like super high adrenaline rush.

oh yeah and all the smoke that came out was kinda cool actually it freaked out some people on the on the interstate. i was driving wayyyyyyy past the 110 mph mark the needle was on the third number from the right and the check engine light turned on and not even ten seconds later ( i just shifted to neutral in time to slow down and applied brake pressure) and it died. it almost not oil in it too i burned everything up!

the motor was built and costed a fortune but was well worth the rush.

the current engine it has is stock shit i hate it though it does get me around with surprising gas milage too.

yeah it is hard to go down when you have already gone up. the rush is too much to let go dpending on the time you shoot it.

so can you safely run a 75 shot on a stock corolla engine?

yes as long as you have a HIGH VISCOSITY oil, sorry about captialization but i need to emphasize to prevent engine lockup. but will work with stock components.
