One of the levees has been breached though, in the canal between the lake the the river....and theyve only received less than .5 an inch of rain so far....the worst is yet to come....and the tides are still increasing.

And a tornado just touched down in NO

yea, i was fixin to say, hehe....the levees havent been knocked down....its just the portion of the levee that gave way during katrina was filled in with dirt, sand bags, and steel beams but they didnt rebuild those areas as high as the current levee system....cuz the storm surge was only 8 feet and the levees are higher than that....hopefully, the surge will drop down soon before the city level water gets any higher...

I'm pretty sure you are...but that's not the best attitude you should be having about this.

I mean, yeah, I'm sick of it taking up half the news hour in the evening, but...well I guess you just have to live there or know someone from there.

You know, I do know some people from there - people who lost everything and they are saying the same things I am. They're sick of the people from their own city constantly whining to milk the country for more sympathy. My attitude has pretty much come from their feelings about it. To tell you the truth, we're all pretty sick of hearing the consistent bitching - whats done is done, people need to stop spending their time sitting around depressing themselves about it and get off their asses and do something about it rather than make tv appearances complaining about how bad things are.
