Tech need help with directx 9.0c

    need help with directx 9.0c

    i'm trying to play this game that i downloaded, gunz

    it says i need directx 9.0c and i'm currently on directx 8.1

    i tried downloading the program from microsoft, didn't work cause my version isn't validated or something, basically, i'm running bootleg windows xp

    then i went on my laptop, downloaded it fine no problem, and sent it over to my desktop, and it still didn't install

    i installed it fine on my laptop

    when i try to install on desktop, it opens program, i agree to term, then it says files are completed, and it doesn't install anything..anyone know whats up?

    running bootleg windows xp. MS stopped running support for pirated copies.

    i'm not wasting my money on that if it's working fine for me, i guess i'll just have to stick with CS
