    The Exorcism of Emily Rose

Me an the gf went to see this movie last Friday, and as a whole, we enjoyed it quite a bit. It wasn't as much of a horror movie as I was expecting, there was a bit of a documentary feel in it. From what I read afterwards, it seems to movie kept relatively close to the original story, which is good (and kind of disturbing). The horror scenes we're enough to make a good part of the theatre jump in unison (including my gf, who almost broke my hand, lol) and the rest of the movie (story telling, court room scenes) kept your interest when there wasn't much horror going on.

I went to see this movie on Sunday evening. Overall the movie did not meet my expectations.

About 75% of the movie too place in the court room. About 5% of the movie was about the lawyers life and experiences at home with the supernatural. Only like 20% of the movie had to do with Emily Rose. And when they did show what and how everything went down with Emily, it was only during times of recollection in the court room. IMO, there wasnt enough scary or freaky parts. They didnt focus enough on Emily's life and exorcism. The only part that freaked me out (which is also advertised on the preview) *POSSIBLE SPOILER.......is the part where she's in the classroom and she looks over at the guy and his face get all this black shady apparitions. It didnt look freaky on our TV at home because it doesnt compare to the size of the screen and the acoustics in a movie theater. Anyway, im not saying its a bad movie, however, I still liked it, but it just couldve been much better. It was worth the money for the movie ticket.

oh yea, during the whole movie i was like "dayum, that chick yells loud! She could be the lead in a grudge hardcore rock band", hehe....after the movie, people were screaming at each other in the parking lot, it was pretty funny....i thought it was kinda crazy when the priest came over for the first time and emily was stiff as a board even when they picked her up...
