    ridiculous

some of you might recall i owned an RX7 for a very short period of time.

the guy who bought it from me(towed away for $100) sent the title back to me, because he needed me to get a new title. i did, and mailed it back...certified, with a signature requirement. i got the signature card back a few months ago. now, this asshat's saying he never got it, and is calling ME incompetant, etc. wtf? any suggestions on how to handle this guy, aside from apologizing repeatedly? i've avoided the name calling...though this 40-something year old feels the need to call me incompetant when i KNOW it's a problem on his end, i won't resort to such immaturity.

i've sent the asshole a scanned picture of the signature card, and he's gone so far as to say i made that picture just so he'd leave me alone. i don't know what else to do to shut this guy up, but it's getting frickin annoying. i've NEVER seen someone flip out over the title for a $100 NONFUNCTIONING car that he intended to chop up and use for parts. the sad thing is, he's in his late 30s/early 40s, and is resorting to name calling. wtf? :superconf

What was wrong with the title? If you included it with the purchase, and he lost it or whatever, it should be in his hands now.

i'd signed it, but didn't get a title made up in my name, so he wouldn't accept it.

i ended up blocking him on that forum...hopefully he won't get brave and show up at my parents' house.

hahah...well, i don't care, but i'm slightly concerned he'll show up at the parents' house looking for me.

    Fenix,
Take your time. If he wants to resort to that kind of behavior, slow down and take care of things when you are ready to.

Why did he need you to get a new title? I just sold my 91 Toyota pickup this year and all I had to do was sign the title and give it to him. If he shows up at your door, show him the certified signature card. Then he if harasses you anymore, call the police. :) You did your part. Its not your part he lsot what you sent. Nail the bastard to the wall.

I would think the law should protect you on that one. (Not a lawyer, just speculating) If he requires ANOTHER copy. it should be at his expense, not yours. :)

The thread that you linked above deals with people that mispell words on purpose.

So you think she should send a SECOND certified letter??? Matt, did ya read her original post?

Laura, just forget bout it...he'll get over it. Tell him to go to the post office and ask for the signature verification himself. If that doesnt help, give me his email and Ill set him straight...lol

Laura - do you have the number from the confirmation? You should be able to pull up the delivery confirmation and an image of the signature from the USPS website..

no need to worry - got a message from the tool apologizing.

he didn't say he found it; he merely apologized for being an ass.
