Would help to know the model and year of the car. Mileage would help too and the condition, ie. car is like mint condition or looks like it has been beat to hell with an ugly stick (if it really "shits" into the next gear - you got bigger problems than motor mounts :D)

Some mounts are nothing more than rubber donuts - you can order them for around $20-$40. Some are the fluid filled type (depends on the year and model) can start at $100 and go up. Dealer may charge $200 or more for those - not including labor.

motor mounts should still be good but if driven hard the rear or front mounts can give out quickly.

    If Automatic
Check if fluid is low first of all, if low (follow owners manual and directions) usually if needed Dexron II or III is what is recommended, or Genuine Toyota Fluid (not really a difference) both do the same thing, deoends on you and your wallet. if the tranny is messing up should try changing the fluid. it should help out and if that does not work your torque converter may be giving out. or the internal "bands/belts" may need to be replaced which may cost a lot depending on work done.

    If Manual
clutch fluid may be low. clutch may be giving out, throwing gear (synchronization gear) may giving out.if there is a burnt smell usually that means the clutch is on its last leg.if driven hard manuals can damage the mounts quickly.

all depends on how the vehile is driven hard, speed limit, slow launching, hard launching, etc.

    CE,S or LE? model
