    Nitto Tires...defect?

I just bought some TRD rims that had Nitto tires on them. The tires are 205 45 16. There's some cracks on the sidewall of all four tires. The guy who sold them to me pointed this out to me but I still bought them b/c I was just paying for the rims. The cracks don't seem too deep but I'm still worried b/c, again, it's the sidewall. There's a lot of thread left on all the tires. Should I just go and buy new tires?

take them in to a store that sells them and ask if its a problem... if it is they should replace them... don't tell them you are the second owner tho...

are you willing to risk a blow out? they may be fine or they may go out when you push them a little or a lot.

the good thing about companies like nitto are they use a lot of extra rubber in the sidewalls so you might be okay.

definetly take it to a tire place and have them look at it. take it somewhere you trust, because they might just want to try to sell you some tires.

i wouldn't risk it. cracks in the sidewall usually means dryrotted tires...which guarantees a blowout.

to the OP - are you SURE the tires were brand new, or had they been sitting for awhile? tires are rubber, and just like anything else made of rubber, they tend to dryrot if they've been sitting for too long.

ehhh.. they're much worst than I thought!
I wonder if Nitto warranty their tires, you could try emailing them, they might send you a voucher for a set of new tires.

Otherwise I'd stick to Falken and Yokohama.. even Kumho.

you should try to see if nitto will hook up a major discount or free tires.

if that falls through, DO NOT DRIVE ON THESE PUPPIES! lol

the first pic was alright, but after that it all went down hill! wow those are pretty bad.
