You can run a e-manage ultimate and bigger injector thats what i am gonna run with a tune. A lot of people if you look around tend to run the e-manage ultimate and a boomslang harness

Tiny ass turbine AR on the first one, doesn't look like a good fit for a GT40 framed turbo.

Second one looks like a PT6262 maybe, .63 turbine AR or smaller!

First car looks to be built for Highway/Drag racing or other top speed competitions.
Second car looks like it's built for broad powerband on the track.

    #2 please :fyeah:

TRD ECU won't work on your MAP car.

The best option is to get a standalone. The Apex'i Power FC is popular for ZZ series owners.

If you don't want to get a standalone, you will need a piggyback that reads its own MAP sensor, since yours tops out a little above atmospheric. The standard is a 3bar for most units. Emanage Blue will probably be the cheapest option, but definitely one of the more limited piggyback platforms. For the price of an Emanage Ultimate, I would just rather get a standalone.

    MS2 v3 will be a great standalone for a non-vvti 1ZZ.

That kit that you're showing was just sold on here a few weeks ago.

You will also need injectors from at least a 2zz. 2az injectors will give you more overhead in terms of duty cycle, and is required if going past stock boost on the blower.

Then you're just looking at a custom idler pulley to get the belt up to the blower pulley.

I traded the sc12 for the TRD/GM charger because the TRD/GM supercharger are more likely to fit with non vvti 1zzfe engines than the sc12/sc14. I heard that the sc12 blows out hot on top and is known to cause others problems as well. The Sc12 wouldn't make as much hp numbers as the TRD/GM supercharger. According to this thread , I can go custom. I don't think it will be a problem.;)

Yeah, I would check this place out though: www.diyautotune.com

I just got a 2ZZ PFC and J&S Safeguard to control my blower. I'm gonna run it with 2ZZ injectors for now.

yep, that supercharger kit was sold to me! ill be using my 2zz pfc and some 365cc scion tc injectors.

i would also agree with james on the megasquirt 2 for fueling on the non vvti 1zz. it would be quite simple and easy to do. the ignition is usually the hardest thing to setup and i know for a fact that 20v ae86 guys have been using the non vvti 1zz coil packs for years, as well as miata guys using the 1zz coil on plugs for their turbo projects. i still have a few more coil on plug coil packs laying around and a few harnesses. im sure i could wire you up a COP conversion for the 98-00 and maybe make you a plug n play harness adapter for a MS. i love megasquirt. they are one of the best budget standalones i have ever dealt with. with the right options, it is just as powerful as any other high dollar standalone, with almost all the same features for less. very few things can it not do.

i would say i have a MS2 for sale right now and i offered it to james earlier this week, but i just sold it this morning to a local 1.6 miata guy for 350. hehehe. i love craigslist.

yes it can. the only difference between a 1zz PFC and 2zz PFC is the VVL pinouts. which go to nothing on the 1zz harness side. so just raise the VVL engagement point to 9000+ for both high and low settings, drop the rev limiter down to 7600 or so and rock out. it will need some retuning of course. everything needs to be tuned for each individual application.

not possible in any way shape or form. it has provisions for extra circuits and a prototype area, but i highly doubt your going to get it to replicate any kind of obd or emissions signals. you might be able to get it to properly turn on the emissions stuff. but again, there is no kind of software to program that. you would be on your own with everything on that project. im not even getting into the fact that this IS a device that CAN cause more emissions if it is not tuned properly. if the tune was just slightly too performance oriented, you would most likely fail the sniffer test.

i honestly dont have any other good suggestions for emissions testing on a standalone. im sure with the right tune you could get it to pass, but dont expect it. plus if they want to see the ecu, then your fucked. i dont live in a state with any emissions testing, so i honestly dont know what all they do when they test it. we used to have VET testing here years ago, but it stopped about a year before i got my first car. like 1999 or so.

Could the E-manage Blue or Ultimate get the job done? I heard that those E=Manage ECUs will fight with my stock ecu ? Is that true or does it depend on the tune ?

If you are trying to install the TRD SC and have it remain smog legal you will have to do the following:
    • Complete engine swap from 03-04 Corolla, including harness and ECU.
    • BAR it that way
    • Install the complete TRD S/C Kit, including CARB EO stickers.
The CARB EO sticker is only good for the 03-04 Corolla engine, and the only way to get that engine in your car is to swap it, retaining all stock emissions components, and BAR it. The good news is, if you actually do it this way, the TRD piggyback will plug right in.

The stock ecu will fight most piggyback so long as it can. You have to pretty much delete the rear o2 sensor and take away the ecu's methods of autocorrections. I seem to have one that has not fought my camcon (piggyback) at all. In fact I have my rear o2 sensor completely unhooked and removed for my aem uego. No rear o2 signals at all and the ecu has not thrown a single code in 15k. So I know you could possibly get away with it using a 4spd corolla vvti harness and a 00-02 celica gt ecu. It shouldnt fight the piggyback, but passing emissions... I doubt it. James nailed it with the only smog legal way.

I blame it on our years being a "crossover" years. Leaving the smaller ae100/110 chassis and incorporating an new engine platform, for the larger chassis planned
