How come theres no heat sheild on your 2AZ-FE manifold? Did you take it off, or maybe the new Camry / Solara's dont have one? I know the 02 does. Anyways, nice car man. 1st mods, wheels and maybe a slight drop? Also, I dont know about that camry, but if its got the same exhaust as my Mom's 02 2AZ Solara its probably pretty restrictive. a bigger cat-back and a high-flow cat would probably make a good difference. The 2AZ is a nice motor, just lacks some topend.

    Congrats on the new car.

i'm not sure...i might not do any mods...w/my job and college i'm not really gonna have time to do anything to it...if anything...i'm gonna get zenon's...that's about all...i gotta question...it's not exactly getting the gas mileage it should...my 99 camry i drive pretty hard and i get better gas mileage on that...i only have like 1300 miiles on it...do you think it'll get better...i get about 120-125 miles on a quarter tank mostly highway...my 99 camry gets 29 highway w/the a/c on

nah the 2AZ-FE doesn't get great gas mileage, especially for a 4 cylinder. Then again it is a pretty big 4 at 2.4L.

What would it take to drop one of those motors in a Corolla? :) I met a guy today that did a VR6 swap into his old skewl Jeta GTI. It was freaking insane. I want to put a giant motor in my corolla now ;)

does anyone anything about the PZEV camry's...that's the one i have...it's apparently supposed to have like 10 hp less but the emissions and stuff has like a 15 year 150k mile warrenty or something...my gas mileage still sux...toyota told me to do an oil change since i hit 1k miles...then they told me to continue doing it at 3-5k miles after this first oil change...they say it's because it's new and it's just been broken into, i should do the oil change early

Toyota says the PZEV Camry is the cleanest all-gasoline powered vehicle that a consumer can purchase and it complies with the State of California's Clean Air Initiative. The PZEV Camry meets the Super Ultra Low Emission Vehicle (SULEV) standard for tailpipe exhaust emissions. In addition, PZEV Camrys emit virtually zero emissions from the vaporization of fuel in the gas tank and fuel system. Most vehicles, either idle or moving, emit some hydrocarbons which are a precursor to smog.

The PZEV Camry carries an emission warranty period of 15 years or 150,000 miles, whichever comes first. The PZEV Camry provides 151 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 161 lb-ft. torque at 4,000 rpm. It achieves EPA city/highway estimated fuel mileage ratings of 23/32 miles per gallon.

And don't base your gas mileage from the gas gauge, best thing is to fill up your car, drive it, keep track of the mileage you drove since you filled up, and when you fill up aani, see how much gallons it took, then you can figure an accurate MPG for your car
