    Question on Motor Swap

    Hey i just have a quick question about a Celica GTS Motor Swap in a 2001 Corolla and if i have to do any mods meaning engine mounts or anything related to the swap i already have the GTS Motor just need to pull my 1ZZ-FE engine and put the 03' GTS motor in so any help or links on how to do the swap would be greatly appreciated thanks everyone.

    It depends on which tranny you're using. If you use your stock 5-speed then you'll be all set, it bolts right in. If you're using the 6-speed then you're going to need two or three custom engine mounts, custom axles, and a shifter assembly from a GTS. The wiring is the biggest part which is quite time-consuming, and then you'll need some custom power steering lines and a/c lines, and other misc items.

    Would it be worth it to keep the 5 speed tranny with an engine as peaky as the 2zz?

    Ohhh, and definitely keep us up to date on that swap :)

    Ya were using the 6 speed tranny we dont think that the 5 speed will help the power of the 2zz engine. Keep you guys up to date with the engine swap when it starts.

    damn i hope tweak hurrys up and comes out wit this turbo kit, im still waitin on my 5spd swap and turbo...
