    damn nice, those are quite the torquy motors there not bad for a VW upgrade man..... why doesn't Toyota do something like that lol

    Because toyota already has nice fuel economy, even with the xrs, and its N/A. :) I would think its easier for R&D?
    Also, (this is all MO of course.) VW seems to attract a different crowd than toyota does. I'm not thoroughlynvinced that Toyota could get the sales they wanted with a product jump like that. Sure a lot of us would take them up on it for sure, but we make up a small portion of corolla and camry, etc sales...

    CC, I agree they should, but it doesn't mean they will. :) To get high output, more weight would have to be added to the car I would think to strengthen the frame. Who knows? Maybe with the next generation...

    That all applies to the Euro cars.....the US cars have 1.8L turbos

    Dre, good point. Ok. :) I thought they were going to downsize...
    So does that mean they'll yield more torque over here, or would they tune it to around the same output?
