UTI is very good from what i've heard. Wyotech is very good as well and they say Wyotech is more broader, but UTI is more of a hands on type of schooling.

I'm going to UTI at Phoenix next august for 2 years and the cost is like 23 grand since it keeps raising every year but I did this exam and got 5,000 dollar help on that so I only have to pay like 17 grand lol BUT if I get hired by BMW or Toyota when I finish my programs and I do good work for them then they'll pay my student loan off :D

hey legit, you're in daly city right? I say the best one in this area would be Skyline College, they have a toyota cert program over there which I've heard is really great. Wyotech in fremont (they brought out sequoia) is good too but most of the ppls that goes there say they feel like the instructors are rushing through the subject since they are trying to teach you what you should learn in 4yrs in 2.

Pennco Tech is $25,000 for 1 year and 4 months straight. by the end of the corse though, they garantee certification in all 7 ASE fields. and last year they placed 100% of thier students in a job right after school.

anybody in WA wanting to learn more than just to work on cars you should definately consider going through the VRI program at :what:U.

you learn theories, get to test them (on things like the engine dyno, floor dyno), learn about hybrid stuff (they took 2nd and 3rd at a National event that included cars from manufacturers and schools in the country)..... you also learn to hand build everything needed to build these cars (sae, hybrid, etc....) down to even potentially designing and milling the block.... I'm not personally in the programs, i've just taken a couple classes for the fun & interest of it.... just those 2 classes gave me a much better understanding of cars over a coworker who goes to a local tech school to become a mechanic....

one of the more recent SAE cars to come out of wwu:

and it's not just working on cars. they will teach you performance things.... like reading turbo maps & choosing a turbo based on factors of your engine.... then choosing the correct injectors & pressure...... I'll probably be taking a few more classes there before i finally graduate.....

I think Skyline College would be the best choice for you since you are from Daly City. They have a good Toyota program there called "T-TEN" Toyota Technical Education Network. And i think JspeXAE102 is from Oakland?

well yea me "Jspexae102" am from oakland but "ae102" is from somewhere on the east coast. I've thought about moving to sf to go to skyline (i've heard great things about the place when I took autotech at alameda during summers at hs) but after a while of thinking, I REALLY don't want to be a maintence mechanic -especially after working at jiffy lube for a month.

The stuff toyotaspeed90 mentioned sound more like what I want to do.. but meanwhile I'm studying mechanical engineering and working as a student assistance at my school's automotive technology dept.
