    But a goat, wow.

We have undercover mini vans. If I ever get pulled over by one of those I'll give my car away because I sure as hell won't deserve it.

In reality, they arent paying much more for a car like a GTO, or a explorer, because they dont have to soup it up like they would the cruisers.

AND, in MOST departments, the cars that they impound end up on auction, and the proceeds of those auctions go back into the cruiser fleet. So in reality, the public's tax money isnt paying for these cruisers.

Thats the day I become a cop

Most of the times the cars are one which they confiscated during drug busts and what not. Not saying thats the case with this GTO, but I know thats how they get most of their Camaros and Vettes and what not.

Yeah along the road that takes you into Miami Beach, I saw numerous unmarked marauders stopping people. It definitely caught me by surprise.

In New York they have Buick Centuries, Tahoes, even an Altima... I never would have guessed any of them were cop cars, cause alot of them were plain navy colored cars with no visible lights.

Undercover cars in DC/MD/VA usually give themselves away, usually b/c it's an unmarked Crown Vic with cop wheels. That GTO would catch 99% of people off guard though.

wow Iam amazed a complete sentence.

Anyway I think its a good idea for every police department specifically TS to buy at least one non marked non crown vic to do traffic enforcement. Its not a waste of tax dollars

I thought unmarked police vehicles cant pull you over, they have to page a marked one come over to get the job done.

do you not read the entire thread before you post?? holy shit!

For the people that neglect to read the entire thread, thus making themselves look like an idiot, Ill repeat myself: Most departments auction off seized property: cars, houses, recovered stolen property that is unclaimed, etc. That money goes back into the fleet. Thus it does not come directly from the taxpayer.

Secondly, after their impalas, crown vics, etc are done getting souped up, theyre at about the 25-35k range anyways.....its more economical to buy cars that come from the factory fastwith a better suspension anyways....it cuts down on the extra labor costs involved.

Thirdly, most car companies give government agencies breaks on their prices.

So quit bitching about your tax dollars going to a 30k car.

    Not true.

Like your reply was any better......
