that's the ultimate example of why we shouldn't stop someone from getting killed if they are doing something stupid -- it's natures way of saying ' don't let this genetic strand be duplicated, its no good! '

Hey, uh...I've kinda been living under a rock for...like....ever and I was wondering...when driving one of these "automobiles" is it normal to have to continually fill its belly with a petroleum based liquid??? I mean...its just so damn expensive!

It's a girl to begin with, not a guy, and I think its a normal question for someone that has no experience with cars... and damn, I wish my parents would have bought me a BMW a 17 :|

I'm not trying to be an ass or start a fight or anything, so I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but I'm pretty sure when I had driver's ed they taught us about RPMs and that it will idle at 1000. On top of that I'm almost positive its in the book they give us before our driver's test. So I mean if she studied for her test or took driver's ed than she should know that.

I took driver's ed, and yes, they went over vehicle basics (but I don't recall anything pertaining to idle speed), but in the book we have for getting your licence (without driver's ed, just plain getting your licence), they said what a tachometer was, but no indication on what it should show, etc... reading that girls post, I could almost see my gf asking the same thing, and obviously, that girl didn't know what it was, and she was doing the right thing by asking (imo), only way to learn, and if a girl wants to learn more about cars, im all for that... and no, i didn't take your post in any negative way, you we're polite, didn't insult anybody, and ou stated what you had to say in a civil manner, no problems there whatsoever...

Yeah, I have to cover myself. Some people just take things way too seriously. Its been a while since I had to deal with driver's ed and what so you're probably right about all that. Either way I could see my g/f asking that too. I'd prolly laugh at her though just because she's been driving for years. No harm no foul though I spose.

We're pretty friendly here, don't have to worry much about ppl here taking things the wrong way as long as your not insulting someone or what have you...
