    you still got p0171? LOL maybe time to change the MAF?

    I know it sounds like a pain in the ass but have you tried switching back to the stock air box? i remember when i had my SRI 9th gen it gave me the CEL but switched it back to stock and off it came..

    ...................so i changed the exhaust manifold gasket and donut gasket, light came back on, took it to a retired mechanic friend, he couldn't figure it out, just did compression test and fuel pressure test yesterday. Heres the results.

    Compression
    DRY 175 174 165 178
    WET 182 180 173 180


    Fuel Pressure: Ok so heres whats weird about it, i know when you turn the key over it's supposed to snap right up to pressure. I got nothing. Only when i turned the key over to actually start it did i get pressure, and even then it didn't snap right up, but instead raised to pressure over the course of about a second and a half. (I have been noticing rougher starts). Once running the fuel pressure stays at 48 which is good and doesn't fluctuate, and when i shut it off it stays at pressure and slowly comes down.

    Is this normal? The fact that it wasn't snapping right up has me worried.

    Again i have the P0171 P0420 codes. Im ordering a MAF as we speak.

    did you change both o2 sensor? over time they get very burnt and start acting up...changed both on mine, MPG went up and idle nice.

    the post cat sensor is just to measure the change in Ox levels. I don't think it really does much as far as how the engine runs? This is just what I've been told before. I know the pre cat can make a difference.

    You need to try putting the stock air tube and air box in there. This is most likely going to fix your problem..

    You've got too much air going through that aftermarket intake and Now upgraded manifold and tb. The MAF sensor will not pickup all that extra air properly.

    Dmmit! Im going to be in Santa Barbara. Thanks for the offer though, i might have to take you up on that if my mechanic cant figure it out. It ran better after a new MAF fuel pump filter and plugs.

    I got a lean code three times after the swap but after fixing my exhaust and tweaking everything so the exhaust didnt leak i was good. this was after the exhaust manifold swap though. and i'll take one later.

    So got my car back from the mechanic, while doing diagnostics it was showing that when you gave it more gas, it would take gas away from the mixture instead of adding......Dafuq!? Like it was running backwards. Also, after disconnecting the battery and reconnecting the long term fuel trim was registering, (i think 18 if that matters) when it shouldn't be registering at all, 30 seconds after reconnecting the battery and not even starting. So we figured it was my ECU. Whatever i wanted to do a celica swap anyway.

    You're not suppose to take account fuel trim values for snap and decel values. The MIL will only come on if the LTFT (Long term fuel trim) is out of range during steady driving and or idle.

    When you say less fuel, you mean LTFT or O2 values?
