    2009 kia rio
    2666 miles
    silver
    no power anything - literally
    no a/c

Pix up soon - dressing her up first...

    First impressions:
    1. Stick shifter/tranny - does not feel like corollas at all - at least the 10th gen to compare. In the corolla, it feels like there's so much meat in the shifter, while the kia feels so bare (cant think of any other comparison lol) or maybe the kia feels like a corolla that has been used for 200k miles maybe...

    2. High gear ratio - 3k rpm @ 60mph, close to 4k at 70ish. They could have lowered 4th and 5th. Or they could have added 6th.

    3. Feels fast, even if it isnt LOL. Maybe going from the AE82, this car feels gobs faster. Although the lack of P/S does not help me on the cornering...

    "just" a kia? seriously?

Its not like I was asking for a 6th gear because I want to be like F&F. (I could swear that eclipse on ff1 shifted 7 times on a straight )

I have a valid reason for wanting a 6th gear OR smaller gears. Now if there is a science/reason behind not having one OR smaller gears, then so be it.

Their advertized 8k car IS my car.

And I'm sorry to break your bubble but KIAs are actually coming out with heated AND cooled seats, good looking cars, and most importantly, cars that go over 100k. I don't know which is worse, you or a racist bastard... Wait, you're probably one.

I swear, sometimes your posts are stupid and just for fucking post count.

ikon and ares throwing down with the f-bomb, holy cow. Never heard (seen) either of you guys do that before. But I prefer the new direction of Hyundais over the new Kias. The Forte Koup looks like a rebadged 8th gen Civic. I wouldn't mind having a Genesis Coupe, those are sexy, and the V6 sounds sweet with a straight through exhaust, neighbor has one.

you obviously didn't read my post or maybe you don't have the ability to comprehend what you read. i never said "just a kia", so go back to my post and read it again. i strictly commented on you wanting a 6th gear in 8k car which is illogical. i am well aware of what kia and hyundai offer in their lineups and the only car worth owning from them is the genesis.

as for post count, i've been around long enough that i can care less about post count because it doesn't make anyone smarter by having 2400 posts. i also hate all races equally and my parents are still together, so i don't fit the racist bastard you're looking for.

That implies "just" a kia, or if you meant "just an 8k worth of car". I see no difference. And yes, I admit, my comprehension skills are not on the 100% because I'm a proud Filipino. English is in fact my 2nd language.

And as far as your statement above is concerned, take a look at this:

don't sound so happy to be doing that, don't worry about someone not liking your car, most people I'm sure don't really care. Hell yours is a decade newer than mine, if I hadn't put so much money and work into my corolla, I wouldn't mind getting a new kia.

I will stop after this post since you are obviously not smart enough to read and understand what is typed out on a message board. I am not implying anything as I simply commented on a 6th gear. I never said “just a kia” and you can go back and read it again and again. If it makes you feel better by thinking I said “just a kia”, then so be it. It’s just a kia, so now you quote me for saying it. The link you posted about the next model having a 6 speed is pointless since it will never sell for 8k which was the point to my original post. As for the ESL, I am glad you admitted you’re stupid which is what you implied by adding that to your post. At least I know what I am dealing with. My ex’s second language is also English, but she would never use that as an excuse. Its people that are lazy and/or uneducated that will say those kind of things.

    Magicslick:
I never said I didn’t like his car and if you had 60k to spend on a car you would never buy a Hyundai.

If they came out with no ac/ps - and no one buys it from the lot in 2 years, I bet they'll lower the price to 8k.

True, I was slightly implying you with my post earlier, but I did realize you never actually said that, so my comment could stand for anyone in general. Also true for the second part of your sentence, mostly.

Now that I have the mustang, I don't think I'll spend any money on this... Keep it as a DD until it dies. Although I think this would have been a nice autoX car being light and all...

Sure, the black plasticy things are quite cheap looking, but I think they will be alright if you blackout the head lights (it's free after all) and of course the window tint looks good. The wheels are meh, but whatever.

I look forward to the day I can afford a beater car to drive to the city without having to watch for every pot hole and dip in the road. Trips to the mountains and road trips so I dont have to worry about trashing the under side and lip of my slammed accord.

Agree with everyone... 2009 was the last year they had the black moldings... Should have waited for 2010 ver with body discreet and body color moldings.

I tried out a car detailing service who did a horrible job with waxing over the plastic... I thought about plastidipping the plastic but I'm no good DIY guy so I may fail...

Yes, this car is a beater. Decided to get it after seeing lots of cars like this with 150k+ miles and little to no problems.

Not a big camber fan... Depending if I feel like going to the beach more often, I may or may not lower the car. I actually want to "bag" it. Lowered on the streets, and jacked up on the beach. I wonder if that's possible...
