Taking my exhaust manifold off today to replace that gasket and the donut gasket. Is there anything else i should while I'm in there.

How bad is thermal wrapping the manifold? Will it crack way easier?

this ^ and the thermal wrapping i did it a while back and the engine still works with no codes or cracks.

Wouldn't it just be easier to get thermal gaskets?

not really but then again you have to remember my engine is old, im at 222k. I just did it because i was changing my exhaust gaskets and i said to myself i would do it...Many ppl over at newcelica says they have seen gains 5-7hp? even some say this is better than an aftermarket header....im just saying what ive read before.

my front o2 sensor got very corroded over time, i was at 200k at that time , i have a picture in there i think, replaced it with a new one and it fixed it......

If placed on the intake all it does is keeping the air at a cooler level, maybe...you would need a scanner and see the setting

if placed on the exhaust they say the heat stays inside and out the back, ppl say its bad, ppl say its good only way to find out is by doing it...also might wanna try ceramic coating?

I was thinking ceramic, but scared of the price. Im gonna try porting it too.

I passed on the thermal wrap, didn't seem like potentially rusting out my manifold was worth it. Plus i might be looking into aftermarket headers in the near future. Still need to pull it, but heres what iv'e done so far today.

Haha me too! I was like damn thats the first thing I'd remove upon receiving it. I mean could you honestly find a worse place to mark it?

sounds like you bought the one for the muffler...the smaller one is for the muffler where it bolts off, and the bigger one is for the exhaust manifold...idky but toyota did it like that...

Lol, ya iv'e payed my registration, theres been two times now when cops have followed me and ran my tags, they probably just figure I'm waiting for them in the mail Haha
