Found them... hmm I'll think about it. They're cool even though they don't have a lip but gold isn't what I'm going for and paying $450 I don't wanna have to paint them as well lol

Painting is pretty easy I know but then it's like I could pay 450 and get rims in the color I want and save myself a paint job.

Then that takes away the fun of working on your own car. Might as well pay someone to do everything for you. I'd say try it yourself, and if it comes out good, then great, but if it's a fail, THEN pay to get it done.

well this right here is why I said "Uh Oh..." in my other thread when you said you were gonna take up wheel painting after hummer lol. Hopefully you'll get it right the first time!

The problem with painting rims is that they chip very easily if you don't do it right... it takes a lot of sanding/prep before hand and then the right paint and finishing. Otherwise, with all the rock chips, it is very hard to strip the wheels back down because the surface is so complicated.

wow, a 0 offset? That's gonna poke for sure! And if you're going with the flush look, you have to slam it and roll/shave/pull the fenders for sure.

Oh, and discounttiredirect.com has a good tire size calculator where you can input your current and planned tire size to see the difference. Make sure you end up with the same overall diameter.

The first ones you posted were SWEET, those one arent too bad i love those style just not with the little screws on the outer edge of rim.

I never really had a problem with the paint chipping except when i would curb them or in spots where the paint was hard to reach. For the most part i used a REALLY adhesive paint but every once in a while it would chip and i would just do some touch up. I just HATED the cleaning process before painting my rims are the worst to clean with all those fricken grooves.

^^^ yeah, paint them right and you shouldn't have any problems. Most people do powder coating (which is the ideal way) but that's not exactly DIY.

Press, the stock wheels are 40+ mm offset. So, by going with 0 mm offset, your wheels will be 40 mm closer to the outside of the car. But that will probably be needed for going with such a wide wheel (8.25") The wheels on my Corolla were 7" wide and 40+ mm offset. They weren't flush, but when lowered 1.5-2", they did have some rubbing on the front wheel guards.

I really like those with the 0 offset but if that will rub then I don't want it lol

Well nothing is gonna rub with stock suspension lol. (well unless your wheel goes in too far and hit the springs). What are your suspension plans?

As you lower the car, the camber automaticall goes negative, so yoru wheels end up more like this / \ instead of the stock | | . the negative camber helps to give you more space to tuck the tires with a lower offset wheel. Also, you can take a mm ruler out to the wheels and see what 40mm out will look like.

haha, you are gonna be stock until you put them on! They do no good in the garage collecting dust lol.

I think that is the perfect suspension... exactly what I had :D

Definitely put on the suspension before you get wheels. Definitely.

Sigh... You are going to rub, scrape, bump things. If you don't want any of that, then you DON'T want to be 'hellaflush', let alone lowered. My car is not even close to slammed, I still got a couple inches to go, and I can't even have my 12 pound daughter in the backseat without rubbing. You can't have both hellaflush and no rubbing. If you don't want to hit anything, then don't lower your car.
    Added: Oct 12, 2011 8:46 PM
That's not true. The CENTER of the rim will be that much closer, but if you look at the rims, look how the spokes dip all the way into the center of the rim. If it was a flat face rim, then yes, the rim would stick out A LOT lol. But the center line of the rim in relation to the mounting point is how you measure offset, not just the number of mm as compared to stock.

I think you need to drive in a lowered car first before you actually decide what you want to do with yours.

Yes, that goes along with what I said. ^^ My buddy lowered his integra before I lowered my car, so I knew to expect a rough ride, to hate speedbumps, steep driveways, potholes, people behind you that are in a hurry on rough roads, rubbing, scraping, et cetera.
    Added: Oct 12, 2011 8:52 PM
Oh and if this is your daily driver, you better hope your dad can get a good deal on tires all the time. That is not a good idea if you are gonna be doing a lot of driving to school/work whatever.

I've driven lowered cars before but all pretty high end (Mercedes, BMW, etc)
and they didn't rub unless I made it by hitting a dip or something quickly
tein s will destroy tread on my tires?

the hellaflush thing is a joke lol
I like their style but I'm not getting coilovers and I'm staying on tein s tech for the corolla
    I'll be kindaflush LOL
anyways... I think I'm gonna do 15" for rims to try and prevent rubbing as much as I can.
does yours rub a lot roach?

Size of rims has nothing to do with rubbing people, its all bout offset and camber. And if you want your car to look any good at all stay away from 15"s unless you want the civic stock wheel look.
