    Bring me up to date

Hey, I havn't checked back with you corolla guys in a while. So thought I'd see how things were going. Mine is still for sale, having some trouble selling it. A bunch of people have decided to buy it but the bank will not give them a loan larger than the original value of the car without modifications. I considered parting it out but unfortunately I don't have many of the stock parts. Anyway here's my corolla for anyone who hasnt seen it, mertou2@yahoo.com if you wana buy it (wink wink)

So did a lip kit ever come out for the 93-97? I waited for that thing forever but it seemed like it would never actually happen. Anybody do any swaps or turbos lately? I dunno I wana know whats going on in the corolla world. I'm taking my wrx out to the track saturday hopefully. So far I've done sway bars, rims, struts, springs, accessport engine management, downpipe, uppipe, stealthback exhaust. I wish the power possibilities were the same for the corolla as for the wrx. I spent around 1100 on engine mods and suposedly have a 60 horsepower increase over stock, I think I spent almost that on the corolla and probably gained a few horses. Oh well heres a pic:

60 HP for those mods? mine makes almost no gains for any mods unless you turbo or supercharge, and i heart NA. thats a lot of nice gains on that SEDAN ;)

Just sold the corolla this morning for $5000. I got this bad feeling when I handed over the keys, I just have to remind myself that I got another project now. Well if I ever become a parts manufacturer (not likely, lol) I'll make a 93-97 lip kit.

Engine management seems to be the major difference between the wrx and the corolla. I bought this cobb accessport that you plug into a port under the steering wheel and you can load a bunch of different fuel maps depending on what modifications you have done. It's the best mod I've ever bought. I may get a cf hood eventually but if I do I will probably upgrade to the sti intercooler first so that the larger scoop would accomodate it. Thanks for the responses guys, I did miss the corolla forums.

Don't do it! lol One of the guys on base here has a CF hood on his STi, and it looks like total crap, not to mention it doesn't fit perfectly. (I have a tid bit of O.C.D) :)Just doesn't look as good as I had thought it would.

Dude the Scooby looks great. I notice you got the side skirts painted to match? Great look. I have $3500 in savings right now, and I cannot wait until the '06 wrx's hit the lot. (I KNOW I KNOT THEY LOOK UGLY) Buuuuut, they have the 2.5L engine. :)

Hopefully they'll be two of us corolla/scooby owners on the site. :)

Yep corolla was my first car and I obviously put a lot of work into it so that probably explains why it was hard to get rid of. The money is all going towards paying off the wrx. I'm moving into a new apartment in three weeks so any modifications will be delayed for a while anyway.

That would be cool if you got a wrx, I agree the 06 is ugly. Do you know what brand hood the guy with an sti bought? I had problems with the carbon fiber hood on my corolla but out of what I've heard seibon and vis hoods seem to be good fits. Here's a pic if someone hasnt seen them.

SuperFly, I can ask him. (I'll see bout takin a couple of pics over the seekend too) :) Yeah its ugly, but I don't really want the WRX for looks anyway. :) I want the performance. I heard that with new heads and a bigger turbo on the new 2.5L, it should yield some really nice results.
I guess I should stay on topic and let you know what's going on. Statik posted a really cool guitar groove in the Off Topic/ Movies Music etc forum. :) A nice listen, you should check it out. Its under a nice instrumental or something like that.

Bullet, no prob man, its taken me almost 2 years to turn around from my Corolla purchase to be able to buy one. :)
