So update on the truck. Dropped it off at a body shop on the 9th of March. Come to find out, last week his office manager quit, divulged all the information about all the cheating and kickbacks and lies he's been telling everybody. My truck supposedly is two different shades of the Phantom Grey. If I get it back today, I have to take it to Mountain States, spend $200 on an extremely thorough inspection of the whole truck, to make sure he didn't sabotage or harvest parts off of it.

More news: We uncovered a huge scam. Allstate adjuster up in that area has been writing over dollar supplemental's, and him and the body shop owner have been splitting the difference. Having the truck towed out hopefully today to a toyota dealership so everything can be fixed.

Yeah, I'll be submitting a BBB complaint, though I'm not sure it's going to matter. Allstate is probably going to sue him into the ground. Who knows how long he's been doing this, and with how many other adjusters.

It'll basically be new when I get it back. Aside from the age of the chassis and motor.

If my car ever gets wrecked I sure hope that my insurance totals it instead of doing half ass fixing.

You have an 8th gen right? If it's damaged enough for you to want to claim it, it most likely will total out. These cars aren't getting any younger, the value in the KBB for a 98 VE in poor condition is only 900 bucks lol

The bumper, both fenders, both bedsides, rear chrome bumper, clear corner lights, 2005 blackhousing led tail lights, one head light, both fog lights are brand new. ALL prior bodydamage was fixed. Suspension is being rebuilt as we speak, including A-arms and tie rods. It will have 4 brand new wheels on it, 4 brand new tires. The whole vehicle has new paint on it. The senior adjuster and my dad were both satisfied with the paint and the bodywork. (Despite me being 27, I just left my dad as a co-owner of the vehicle after I paid it off. If I die, less questions about who it goes to.)

Might have it this week, maybe next, we'll see.

Ninja Edit: Also yeah, the color is Phantom Grey.

Now as long as this rat bastard produces my old damaged tires and wheels, my Westin Bullbar, my PIAA 510's and the Weathertech Hood Protector, all is well.

I've been told parts were ordered by Toyota, they'll arrive Friday, and it'll be ready Monday. ...Despite it being Toyota, I'm not holding my breath. Too much shit has gone wrong with this whole endeavor.

Oh I don't doubt Toyota. It would be my luck though, the way this whole thing has gone down for the last 8ish weeks, that a meteor would strike the dealership or something to that end, lol.

Got it back. What a laundry list of problems. Stock fog light doesn't work, a rear turn signal didn't work, not only is the placement of all my emblems fucked up, they are crooked (debadge time I guess), the bullbar wasn't installed, the wheel well liner wasn't installed right at all, it needs a whole new alignment, it needs a full inspection. uh... what else.

...the battery in my alarm remote was dead.

Ninja Edit: So... no pictures until I get all the parts correctly installed, debadged and the whole thing washed.

Wow. Sucks dude. But a de-bagde is good. I'm glad Toyota doesn't drill holes for emblems like Honda.

Rofl, one of my emblems has plastic sticking out from underneath it where somebody didn't remove the backing completely. Fail. It's at Mountain States right now getting looked at, re-aligned, getting a wheel stud put in it, and they are installing and aligning a certifit headlight I got. Hoping and praying nothing else is wrong with it.

It came back 9 weeks after it got dropped off. It runs fine, but I spent a boatload of money fixing more shit that was wrong with it, and replacing things that got stolen, like my trailer hitch and 5 to 7 pin electrical connector, my comforter that I kept back there. I don't drive it often right now due to fuel prices. I'm better off on the R6 getting between 45 and 55 mpg, depending on how hard I feel like whomping the throttle that week. I'm considering selling the truck outright and going to get a 2011 5.7l. I could probably get 12-13k for my truck, use 8 of that plus 2k out of savings on a downpayment, truck payments would be around $500 or so and I could use the other 5k to mod it. ...but I dunno. I love the shit out of my truck. I love the way it looks, drives and have had it for so long.
