Wow, what happened here??? The whole look is changed and stuff. Anyways, I been DD'ing the prizm, which is what they are meant for and pretty much just enjoyin every mile. I recently met a friend whose got hookups through his school for auto work (Paint jobs, mechanical stuff, bodywork, you name it). He said he could rebuild my engine and transmission. He's gonna do some bodywork for me and a fresh paint job for pretty cheap. My engine and tranny are prefectly fine, other than some synchro wear on a 165k transmission. I thought, why not get some ooph in it for lets say the next 100k miles lol. I need ideas. I was initially thinkin of doing a 4age swap but thats a lil outta my budget. The i would need to find a tranny to make the best use of that engine and the price is gonna just keep building up. I was thinkin some cams and stuff on my current 7afe. What else can you guys think of? Also what can I do to beef up my tranny? other than new synchros.

If you plannng to rebuild your motor to stock or somethig mild and still looking for that horsepower, you still gonna be spending alot of money. The route I would go for a dd is either go to your local junk yard and find a stock motor for your car with lower mileage and if you planning to go fast do the 4age and look for a 4age 16v tranny for a good price(craigslist/junkyard)it should Bolton with no problem.

it is but my friend can do rebuild the engine and transmission dirt cheap since he would do it in his auto class and they dont charge anything. I just asked him if they do swaps and he said yea, but im wondering if they would be able to do this swap since its not a shop that customizes in that specific type of a swap to know the ins and outs of the whole procedure. Well see

You know that since it's a school, they might not do a correct job since they're going to use your car as practice. It also means that it will take a long time. I know this because I was in an automechanic school like he was in. :) I would never bring my car in to a place like that imo.

Im not sure exactly what the plan is for now, maybe ill just keep runnin the 7afe for the time being. I know rollatuner, thats been in my head that theyre no pros so not like I can take it to them, even though its a fairly simple bolt in engine, theyll know what to do since they have no clue. if something doesnt line up, they might just hack it up to see if it works lol

get a 4age head and hks makes a piggyback from japan with a gcc and either some highcomp injectors or some injectors from a 1uzfe injectors that are 251cc or some 7mge 315 injectors...depnding on how many ohms your injectors are you might have to run a resistor inline ...ive got the hks with gcc and inj pulse monitor on my ae92 with the 251s and they are just right. i paid 200 for the fcon then 125 for the gcc and 100 for the pulse monitor...then i bought a fitec map for 30 and paid another 30 for injectors.....the bigport redop ones where ate 95 percent duty cycle with the cat cams i had so theres no way theyll work on a 7age.......with the gcc you can up the pulse width plus 16% or minus 12%. at 6 different rpm points and the fcon has 10 deferrent settings as well....its should be fine with what your trying to do and it tells you if its at the correct setting...im pretty sure it monitors the a/f ration... orig the fcon came with 295cc inj with a 3 bar map...its the e192prom if you can find it but its really rare...im the only person i know of in the us with it...good luck...

Actually I meant "the fuck". Its a quote from Erick Cartman, in South Park. You heard? Also, I didn't mean to offend. I'm not motor tech savvy, that along with the some misspelling of some words, you had me lost a few times. Once again, no offence at all. I guess I knew less than what I thought I did.

You know what, its about time I procure more about engine stuff. I'll start out by asking what is "gcc"? and "fcon" and "inj pulse monitor" and "fit tech map" and "bigport redop ones where ate 95 percent duty cycle with the cat cams" lastly this "im pretty sure it monitors the a/f ration... orig the fcon came with 295cc inj with a 3 bar map...its the e192prom if you can find it but its really rare.."

just kinda lead me in the right direction.
